You will NEED some pain relievers...and if they gave you any vicodin, just WATCH OUT...you WILL be cleaning a lot, if my experience is any indication of side effects.

Whatever became of the "bargains" from Target and Big Lots?  Were they destroyed, strewn or recovered?

Thankfully, most of the goodies were in the trunk which was so tightly packed they were unable to move about much...the only breakable was a green glass desk lamp that was sitting on the front seat next to me. It was landed on the floor of the car but was unbroken and appears to work fine.

And at this point Advil seem to be doing the trick, for the most part.

I shall now flop on the couch and watch some movies.

Off to make up the bed (since I washed linens this morning) and then get back to Dr. Drew Casper.

I don't know about the cat situation. They will look at each other and hiss but Bootsie absolutely refuses to let it go any farther.  They will not get close to each other. I keep putting Bootsie back in her room and she keeps going into the carrier.  I just don't know if it's going to work out.  I'm going to give it a little more time, but I'm beginning to wonder if Bootsie needs to be an only cat.  Callie is really trying to be friends.   I haven't given up, but am considering talking to the neighbor who was also considering keeping Bootsie.  If he really wants her, it might be the best thing.  I just don't know.

I decided to just open Bootsie's door and go downstairs and see what would happen. Well she came downstairs turning and hissing at every corner (pretty funny actually) then Callie came down and cornered her under the couch.  They hiss and vocalize, but haven't attempted violence yet.  I put Callie in the other room and let Boots roam around the house.  She's back in her room and they've both had dinner and are calming down. They both stick their heads around corners and hiss right now.  Thus endeth today's catty chat with cilla

Today is Saturday in the Park - our annual free concert that draws thousands and thousands and thousands. It started at noon. Tonight's headliners are Chuck Berry and the Neville Brothers. From our annual Mardi Gras on Thursday, to the Big Parade last night to SITP, it's all been atribute to New Orleans and our sister city of Lake Charles.   We ran into some of the Lake Charles  Crewe de Charlie Sioux (a combo of Lake Charles and Sioux City)

They were so funny. On the drive up from Lake Charles, they were in a van with dark tinted windows and paper tags. You really couldn't see the paper tags. In Arkansas they got pulled over because of the tags, and the story was quite dramatic and ended with -"you can go - it took us awhile to bring up the Louisiana data base, it's been under water"

Anyway, we went outside and there was their van.  Every window was painted with Mardi Gras stuff and things like "We're here and we're ready to party" LOL and they wonder why they were stopped.

AHHHH the weather channel has almost the whole country painted red!!!!  Oh...that just means the temps will be in the 80s and 90s.  Whew! Thought it was political for a minute there.

So, it's been raining off and on all day.  I did help Paul paint the logo on the water tower...well I pooped out after about 4 hours. It was really hot and wet. I'm considering trying to go back tonight for a last chance at Cajun food and to see Chuck Berry and the Neville Brothers.     I was there long enough to get my volunteer shirt today.  It's great. It was sponsored by a Bail Bonds company. The back of it says "DO NOT ARREST THIS VOLUNTEER"

I'm having a frenzy!!!!   I also have tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday off work. I decided to take Monday off before I came back to work a couple weeks ago.  I'm hoping that will be enough time to get the house cleaned and the cats settled.

My nephew Cory came by this afternoon and took me out.  We went to see his new apartment, then his friend Birdhouse (real name Chris) joined us and we went out for lunch.

I'm free tonight, but I'm so tired from the dogs' song and dance all last night that I think I will stay in tonight.

Wow, only one post in the last hour!   I've decided to skip the concert.  Thousands of hot sweaty people, rain predicted and I'm really tired.  Besides, I think I need to be here with the cats nonstop for a few days to get them introduced properly.

Watched "Krakatoa, East of Java" this afternoon.

What a strange, sometimes good, sometimes not, film.

The entire Brian Keith/Barbara Werle (never heard of her before or since) subplot seemed to come out of some odd Disney film that never got released.  Her song was excruciatingly long (and what a song by Mack David!)...and his laudanum-affliction scenes just go on and on and on...I kept wishing the damned volcano would blow and put him out of his misery.

Oddly, the volcano seems to erupt and destroy itself three different times during the course of the film.

The DeVol score is a mixture of 60's pop nonsense and nice melody.

I'm waxing nostalgic this evening...and am going to watch "The Time Machine" and "Time After Time"...two very well-done films with fantastic music scores.

Nice film choices, DR RLP.

DR MATTH - I am very fond of Mr Dan Dailey and his dancing.  He makes a LOT of movies worth watching....including MEET ME IN LAS VEGAS.  And his TV series THE GOVERNOR & JJ.

DR MBARNUM I am so glad you (and your purchases) are okay!  Wow!  Yes, it sounds like NEW car time for you.  If we really knew the other drivers and their abilities....I don't think ANY of us would venture out of our driveways.

Mr Adam Long said that he enjoyed having lunch with our MR BK - and that even though the waitress at the California Pizza Kitchen seemed to be immune to charm, there was much FUN had.

DR CILLA LIZ....I am enjoying reading about your cat adventures.  And of course we must see copies of your pictures in the paper!

Usually when I get my picture in the paper it is positioned next to a more newsworthy story.....so that the headline seems to point to me.  Last time it was "Murderer Sentenced to Death."  And there I stood!

Oh dear!  This does not look good.  6:30 p.m. on the Left Coast and less than 90 posts for the day.

Today I went to the store early, before the start of the Taste of Tacoma.  I got back at 11:00, and have spent the rest of the day taking care of my hip.  The infection is basically gone, but there are lumps along the incision that I am not pleased with.

We just painted the initial background. I'll post a photo later of the finished guitar. After Paul worked his magic it was really nice
