Oy. I am tired.  I always bring my sister and her husband dinner on Wednesday nights.  Well she had company. So I offered to cook it there for all of them.  Well the guests doubled, and then a couple more showed up without notice. So i think i ended up making dinner for 13-15. And I am pooped.

I think i'm gonna go watch So you Think you can Dance now!

Well.. I usually have the "opposite" problem.  I end up cooking for four people, but end up making food for about 14.

Well.. I'll have to make more gravy then.  That pot of creamy goodness was gone Sunday night.

Thoughts on tonight's Project Runway- definite spoilers:

I'm sad about the outcome.  Angela is a crazy b***h and adds no value to the show.  I can't believe they kept her.

Two episodes in and we're already taking things way too seriously.

Agreed!

POSSIBLE SPOILER AHEAD

However, I have to wonder if tonight's outcome was also sort of a payback for the auf'd person's past history with the show.

And I'm guessing the other person stayed in order to provide more drama in the coming weeks.

I had a lovely dinner break with Rodzinski.  He brought Burritoville burritos which we ate in the park and then got icecream cones before I had to head back to work.  The rest of the evening passed quickly after that lovely interlude.

Back from a lovelier than lovely dinner at Stanley's.  I feel like I ate a huge amount of food, only it really isn't so, so my tummy must be shrinking.  I had a small Caesar (really small this evening) and the cajun chicken pasta, which is cajun chicken over angel hair with tomatoes and mushrooms - very little else, just a little oil and garlic, so not that caloric in the scheme of things.

Just before I left a lady came in with a fella, and she stared at me and then finally came up to the table - it was Miss Leslie Ackerman, Susie in The First Nudie Musical (the one who lip synchs to The Lights and the Smiles).  Then, the fella she was with stared at me and asked if I'd gone to Crescent Heights Elementary School.  I mean, how odd is THAT?  He apparently knew me.  If I was reading the situation correctly, I believe they were having some sort of first date - my guess is it will be the last. :-)

Runway drama, more possible spoilers.

I feel like the auf'ed one had the potential to provide more drama and excitement.  Angela is no Santino.

Tomorrow is a day off for me.  I'm going to spend the AM racing around doing laundry and hitting the gym, then it's off to Queens to have lunch with Rodzinski.  That is provided his office is open tomorrow.  If not then we'll spend another day lounging about.

I surprised even myself by some of the things I selected to watch tonight.

I began with the conclusion of BLOOD AND SAND. It's funny looking at some of the women of the silent days that with their heavy makeup and costumes, they sometimes looked decades older than they really were. Nita Naldi looked more like Valentino's mother than his lover in the movie.

Next came the third Hildegarde Withers murder mystery with Edna Mae Oliver - MURDER ON A HONEYMOON. I think I started watching this once and never finished it because I did not know much about it at all once they got off the plane. Lots of fun as always with Ms. Oliver and James Gleason. And I didn't guess the murderer's identity either.

Next was a program I recorded off the Travel Channel last week - GAY GETAWAYS. Lots of interesting infomration about gay cruises, tourist spots (especially Palm Springs), and even gay rodeo got discussed. A fun hour.

Then came LOVELY TO LOOK AT. This was the TCM broadcast of the film, and it looks decidedly different from the Restored Technicolor versions on the videotape and laserdisc. Those have such fully saturated colors that they almost make your eyes hurt.

The TCM version was certainly colorful (and very sharp print, much sharper than the VHS or laserdisc), but the color was toned way down so the color bleeding was minimal (except for that dance that Marge and Gower do during the fashion show with all the garish red lighting).

And I ended my evening with the SOUTH PARK Scientology episode. Not the funniest episode I've ever seen, but it certainly had some jaw dropping moments.

And I did laugh at the voice double for John Travolta. Very funny.

Oh...  And there's been one "interesting" side effect of the high temperatures here in NYC (and other places) the past couple of days.  They have started rationing Playbills at the Broadway shows since the printing plant has had to shut down due to the heat.  When DR elmore and I saw Lieutenant of Inishmore last night, they were only handing out one program per couple.  And, apparently, at Spamalot and other shows, they ran out of Playbills last night, and had a very limited amount to hand out tonight.
