Because of that nice long conversation, I didn't get to as many films as I was anticipating.

I did get to see all of FUNNY GIRL. I hadn't watched it in quite some time, and it's a beautiful transfer. Wouldn't have minded a little more full bodied Dolby Digital audio track, but otherwise no complaints.

Since there was less than an hour left before I wanted to get on-line, I took a TWILIGHT ZONE DVD off the shelf. I have the old DVDs that put three or four episodes per disc. I watched two of them off this disc.

First up was "I Shot an Arrow Into the Air," a show from the first season. Dewey Martin was the star, and I did remember having seen this one before, so the surprise ending wasn't much of a surprise.

DR Jane - I suspect that Animazing Gallery only lists their standard stock on the company's website. I came across a Shopper's Guide to SoHo, and they list AG as a place to find funky, one-of-a-kind jewelry. Must be a local thing.

Well, I broke down and drove to Borders to pick up a issue of SCARLET STREET magazine, as it looks like my comp issue will never arrive (well, actually now that I paid for a copy it will probably arrive on Monday! LOL!)...

...of course I also made the mistake of wondering over to the CD section and picked up TITO PUENTE: Dance Mania, ROUGH GUIDE TO BHANGRA DANCE, JOHN PIZZARELLI: Bossa Nova, and CHEB SABBAH: La Kahena Remixed...plus they had tons of really nice birthday and other greeting cards on close-out for 2 for $1.00!

Next was "Still Valley" with Gary Merrill which I hadn't ever seen before and enjoyed very much. Had to do with a Confederate soldier faced with the possibility of winning the Civil War by renouncing God and using some spells from a Witchcraft book that paid homage to Satan. A satisfying little parable.

The other episode left on this DVD is one of the hour long episodes from season 4 - "Death Ship." Many of those shows aren't considered very good, but this one has a good reputation, and since I've never seen it, I'll watch it tomorrow.

It has been raining here a good solid two hours. Lots of thunder but not a severe storm, just a good steady downpour that I'm sure the region needs very desperately.

Please keep it inland! My son-in-law, with grandlads in tow are towing their trailer to the cape for the weekend. Close behind, supervising everything, will be my daughter, her Mother, and my West Coast grandaughter! (I have told my son-in-law I am ready to post bond for what ever mayhem ensures!)

My Bollywood movie of the weekend is DEEWAANAPAN (2001), an romantic melodrama - Indian boy meets Indian girl and fall in love...Indian girl's father doesn't approve...all heck breaks loose...the type of movie the US used to make and that India still makes...over and over again!

And in the world of horse racing...ANDROMEDA STRAIN (and SOYLENT GREEN) are two movies you couldn't pay me to watch again! For some reason I hated both of them as a kid...of course some 30 years later I suppose I might have a different opinion of them.

I've never seen "Soylent Green," but now that you're an adult, you might give "Andromeda Strain" another try...just my opinion.

Just yesterday, I bought the 2-pack "Funny Girl/Funny Lady" DVD. I've never owned either of these and I've never even seen "Funny Lady." I got it at Costco, so it was pretty cheap.

Yes, I did. I was there for a visit in April of 2005. I was totally shocked by the changes. Places where I used to go all the time were just gone. The places I lived were all still there, but nothing else. And there is that huge mall off of Priest. That wasn't there when I left

There were tons and tons of people at the RAGBRAI kick-off. I saw my friend and we walked all over Sgt Bluff. That isn't hard to do, it's a tiny town
