I don't know how to use my cruise control.

MBARNUM favorite Dorothy Neumann is in GET YOURSELF A COLLEGE GIRL...but does NOT play the title role.

MBARNUM - what did Donna Reed say that wasn't nice to your interviewee.

I am fascinated by anyone having a credit like Girl on a Donkey.

In BECAUSE THEY'RE YOUNG....Mr James Darren sang a song at a high school dance...NOT a prom....just a Friday night dance.

HHW-ers from California....did BIG stars often come and sing at your school dances?

I think HOOTENANNY HOOT is also on this evening.....I hope my rehearsal doesn't interfere with my classic move viewing.

If you miss this one let me know cause I will be burning it to DVD! It is a fun one JRand55!

Maybe that was the inspiration for the character named "Man in Chair" in The Drowsy Chaperone. ;)

Well, JRand55, in one scene my interviewee was a background character but was up front and center in this shot...when Donna Reed saw the rushes she instructed that the pretty blonde gal be put towards the back of the crowd of girls where she could barely be seen...I don't think Donna wanted too much competition! LOL!

I knew a girl from a small Mexican border town who had a credit, "Girl under donkey."

LOL.....that's how she got Dr. Stone!  ;D

And of course Mamie Van Doren "wrote" in her autobiography that Doris Day ordered several of her scenes cut from TEACHER'S PET because she didn't want the competition of another blonde.  My opinion is that Doris didn't even know Mamie was IN the movie!  ::)

Not to worry, I would never allow someone to miss the cinematic delight that is HOOTENANNY HOOT!

A movie with Ruta Lee and Peter Breck and The Gateway Trio is just not to be missed!

Maybe you will walk past the Carroll Baker dressing room - oh, no wait....it was gutted when she wanted to do an outside picture per her contract.

She went back to get her personal belongings, and there was only a shell of the building left.

Kind of like one day Jerry Lewis was the king of Paramount and the next day....all of his pictures, posters, and caricatures had disappeared.

If they don't like you, they can make you disappear.

I caught half of Hootnanny Hoot this morning. It's the same half I always catch. Judy Henske is an interesting singer...but no one should have to sing in a two-piece bathing suit.

Why was she having to carry the donkey?  Did he get a stone stuck in his hoof?  Did he appreciate her trying to help him?  Did he enjoy the view?

Do I really have to stick a smiley on this?   ::) :-*

Well...that's true.  However the dancing kudos in HH go to the Dodge Rebellion Girl....forget her name....although the Hal Belfer dances are pretty dismal.

I love Judy Henske!  The first time I met Shel Silverstein, I asked him whatever happened to her.  He wrote the liner notes to her first recording.  I was so happy when that album came out on CD about two years ago.

What made the Lance Bass story interesting to me is that Lance is dating Reichen from THE AMAZING RACE.

No One Should Have To Sing In A Two-Piece Bathing Suit - that's the title of my next novel.

Or is it a song my Meltz and Ernest?

No one should have to sing in a two-piece bathing suit
No one listens to the notes - they just see the girl who's cute
No you cannot sing Puccini
In a really small bikini
And you cannot sing the score to Sweeney Todd
It would be odd with so much bod
Everyone's eyes would be cruisin'
So forget about singing songs by Cahn and Van Heusen
I'm resolute
That no one should have to sing
In a two-piece bathing suit.

Specially in a sixties movie
When there were generous scanties.
And bikini bottoms
Looked like granny's panties.  ;D
