Maybe that was the inspiration for the character named "Man in Chair" in The Drowsy Chaperone.

Well, JRand55, in one scene my interviewee was a background character but was up front and center in this shot...when Donna Reed saw the rushes she instructed that the pretty blonde gal be put towards the back of the crowd of girls where she could barely be seen...I don't think Donna wanted too much competition! LOL!

LOL.....that's how she got Dr. Stone!

And of course Mamie Van Doren "wrote" in her autobiography that Doris Day ordered several of her scenes cut from TEACHER'S PET because she didn't want the competition of another blonde. My opinion is that Doris didn't even know Mamie was IN the movie!

Maybe you will walk past the Carroll Baker dressing room - oh, no wait....it was gutted when she wanted to do an outside picture per her contract.

She went back to get her personal belongings, and there was only a shell of the building left.

Kind of like one day Jerry Lewis was the king of Paramount and the next day....all of his pictures, posters, and caricatures had disappeared.

If they don't like you, they can make you disappear.

I caught half of Hootnanny Hoot this morning. It's the same half I always catch. Judy Henske is an interesting singer...but no one should have to sing in a two-piece bathing suit.

Well...that's true. However the dancing kudos in HH go to the Dodge Rebellion Girl....forget her name....although the Hal Belfer dances are pretty dismal.

I love Judy Henske! The first time I met Shel Silverstein, I asked him whatever happened to her. He wrote the liner notes to her first recording. I was so happy when that album came out on CD about two years ago.
