DR Edisaraus - we had creepy crawlers. You're right we were always getting burned.  I had some that were edible, but they didn't taste very good, so we didn't eat them.

Creepy Crawlers left burn marks on each of my three younger brothers, Dane, Kent and David.

My 2 favorite toys were Mrs. Beasley and a stuffed lamb.  I still have both of them.  Mrs. B sits on the book shelf.

I prefer self-made men.

A reference to autoeroticism?

There were several shootings around Iowa over the weekend. Not sure what that's all about.

DR MBARNUM - I am watching some episodes of BUFFALO BILL JR - I remember it from the credits...."and his sister Calamity."

Dick Jones as the titular hero is very nice looking and from what I can tell does MOST of his own stunts, including the old jump from a speeding horse onto a runaway wagon team.  And I remember that EVERY time he saw a pretty girl or one spoke to him - or was in the general area, BB, Jr fell down, tripped over chairs, fell up stairs and/or dropped whatever was in his hand....  LOL

Thanks for recommending this show.

And yet it doesn't check for grammatical errors:

"When the men left for work in the morning, they left their garage locks hanging open on the doors."

Touché, Derby!

Why, Amy whatever do you mean?  All looks fine to me.

Waiting for friends to arrive to go to Smothers Brothers tonight.  It's a 7:00 PM curtain so we're going for dinner very early, but it will be fun.  Better go and run the vacuum a little. They haven't seen my house yet and it's not in the best shape. At least if I vacuum it will look somewhat clean

I aslo loved my roller skates, the metal kind you hooked on to your shoes...

And being a perfect little girl, you never lost your shake key!

Those kind of skates didn't work too well where I lived - we had slate side walks with lots of bumps. In Junior High I used to pack up my shoe skates in my fancy red metal skate case, covered with decals, and take the bus to the Roller Rink which was nicely tucked away in the dark environs beneath the Frankford El.

All Skate!

PS: and the slate sidewalks were lit by gas street lamps (and the ash man drove a horse drawn wagon)

(Moses came later)

I think 12 is enough for me.  ;D

Did anyone get the episodes of the British television THE INVISIBLE MAN?  They are a bit pricey, but I remember it fondly, especially the wacky telephone conversations with the receiver waving around in the air.  ::)

Wanted to share a partial scan of a lovely photograph I received today, purchased for $10 on EBAY.

Mr Tyrone Power and Ms Frances Farmer in an embrace for a scene from the 20th Century-Fox 1942 release "Son of Fury."  ;D

It is impossible for me to decide who is more beautiful, Ty or Fran.  8)

Luckily, I finished on-line tonight earlier than usual so I can go get the dining room cleaned (the smallest room in the house; takes five minutes), and have time left over to watch the first Dr. McSteamy episode from GREY'S ANATOMY and last night's DEXTER.

Woody wants dinner out tonight - the local Bistro has fried chicken on Mondays (and Woody has yet to master that dish - maybe if we disable the smoke detectors and get the oil in the skillet really hot....)

It's a no brainer for me. Ty was the most beautiful man ever to have graced the silver screen.

"Ha", I say! I scoff at your pathetic attempts to prove me wrong when anyone can see that you edited your post to correct it almost an hour after I busted you.

And one of his best outings The Black Rose seems not to be available on tape or DVD >:(
