Just received from a nice middle-aged Republican lady friend:

[I'm sorry to say this will be my last e-mail.

Things have been a bit tough lately and life is getting shorter and shorter every day, and I want to take time and smell the roses. So, I am going to quit e-mailing jokes and travel full time with a biker gang to see the country and enjoy life while I still can. Don't worry about me - they all seem like really nice people.
It has been nice emailing you!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, here’s a photo of the gang.

Back from a jog.  It's like Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds outside - hundreds of big black crows flyine and/or perched on wires, making so much noise it's ear-shattering.

Some things in the air.
There was a murder of crows trying to murder a hawk at my house this morning. The noise (and cats) woke me up!

"Is it true blondes have more fun

This was another of the many things I didn't understand as a child. I thought they meant "Is it true that only people who were authentic blondes have more fun"? I still remember the jingle. I was confused a lot as a child.

Did you have the molds that let you cast your own tin soldiers and armaments?

Well, even at my advanced age it's nice to know there are still things to look forward to!

I hope they come to Atlanta!

Edisauris, exactly what does a trim carpenter do?  Is that wood trim, moldings, etc?  I enjoyed the photo of Greg & your brother.  It’s nice you all get along well.

Exactly---moldings...stair rails..routing and coping and mitreing, oh my! He's trimmed out houses for the owners of Home Depot, Black and Decker, Pitmey Bowes. A lot of millionaires have homes in Western NC.

Yes, we get along very well. I just wish he wasn't so far away! Since we moved all the time when we were young, he was my best friend until I made friends of my own. I was shy so I usually made friends through him. He's a good guy and a born carpenter. He even made A-frame tree houses when we were kids!

I usually keep a blank Word document open in which I compose my posts (and get the benefit of the auto-spell checker).

And yet it doesn't check for grammatical errors:

"When the men left for work in the morning, the left their garage locks hanging open on the doors."

Lunch ran long today, and then I had to take some things to the post office for mailing. Some DRs can expect some video goodies later in the week.

CLUE was my favorite, too, DR JRand. And I adored CAREERS, but I couldn't find anyone else who liked it at all, and I'm not sure I ever played more than two or three games of it.

Anyway, COLD CASE started 23 minutes after the hour, but thankfully I had recorded far enough after the end of prime time to fit in the two shows.

COLD CASE had one of my favorite young actors Brian Bloom as a father whose daughter's death destroyed his marriage some 24 years previously. I thought I had solved the death of the child early on in the show, but the murderer's identity was well hidden in the plotting, and it was a nice surprise.

WITHOUT A TRACE concerned a missing female juvenile from a detention center. A long, sad story unfolded about her life and how she came to be there. Good episode.

Before the CBS prime time comedies and NBC's two new sophisticated Monday shows, I'll try to squeeze in DEXTER when I go back down. I've enjoyed the first two episodes so much, so I'm looking forward to it very much.

DR George - best wishes in your new home!  Are you taking time off work this week?

Thanks Ginny!  I'm not taking any whole days off (except last Friday), but when I do things like go to my place between 1:30 and 3:30 PM today to wait for the arrival of my brand spankin' new washer and dryer, I won't make up the time, I'll use vacation time...that's what it's for, isn't it?? ;)

I'll be leaving work now, but I'm coming back, so I won't log out.  I'll have lunch right after the w&d are delivered, since I don't know when that'll be.

I got a call earlier from someone in the Homeowner's Association who said that I need to go to the post office to get a key to my mailbox because the previous renters never returned it.  And, I have to pay for it.  That bites. :P
