Haven't been posting much because I'm so busy at work and Anthony isn't feeling well. I'm about to leave for a while to get him to the doctor.

I hope he gets good treatment, and/or at least good drugs. Let the healing commence!

One last invite in case it was missed yesterday -

We're having a mini HHW dinner at our place this Friday Oct 20 at 7 pm in honor of Bruce being back in town after a three-week absence.  Please let me know if you'd like to come.  RSVP by Thurs afternoon so that we can plan food accordingly.

Good morning Esteemed, scared, soothed, and beatified BK --

Sometimes, when things go bump in the night, a person simply must get up and eat some tapioca.  Calming and friendly it is.

Dear Ben --- you tell that dear sweet Ant that I sent him a big long-distance hug, and I'm mentally sending him cosmic chicken-soup.

A big hug to you too !!

Good morning, fellow Aquarian Music Guy! There's something about tapioca that is very soothing and friendly. And not unkind, like donuts.

Hi DR Edi (and fellow Aquarian!).......Congrats on your goddess-ness ! :)      Do you jump about, or feel like saying wise things, or issuing an edict to "your people?"

I am just here in lowly mortal land, so I shall assume a serf-like attitude.

She feels it will probably run its course in 7 to 14 days. Meanwhile he can take small amounts of aspirin for the fever and if/when he feels like eating lots of bland things like bananas, toast, rice, applesauce

Wow--7 to 14 days! Better stock up on items for the BRAT diet.

And of course, I think you could safely add tapioca to the repertoire...

Feel better, Anthony!

Ask BK day............

Assume it is around 1958, and you have come up to the area of Sunset Blvd. to Hollywood Blvd., and from Gower west to La Brea.  In that area, at which 3 places would you eat (it can be more than one meal) and at what 3 stores would you go in to look around and maybe buy something?

Just remember we are a pleasant bunch here and have certain ways to solve disagreements.

I am afraid...

I'll just sit here quietly in the corner, revelling in my Godliness (cleanliness to be achieved later).

Hi DR Larry.....I just noticed that you popped into the Living Room, and I just wanted to say hello and throw a bouguet of admiration at you.

I have to be off and get some work things done.

By the way, I'm dying to hear how the music and the arranging turns out for The Brain !  I wish I were a better Theremin player.....I'd volunteer!

Good morning!

Still overcast, but it's warm for OCtober, and it's going to be in the high 70s today and the low 80s tomorrow!

I'm so afraid these extreme temperature changes are going to make me sick. My body does not adjust well to these extremes so quickly.

So sorry to read about Ant's illness, DR Ben. Give him my best. That kind of illness is one of the worst to endure. Sounds like what I had my senior year in college that kept me out of classes for 10 days.

A bad sign for viewers of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS.

NBC had scheduled this Sunday for a LIGHTS marathon (NFL taking a week off) to allow fans to relive the excitement and new viewers to discover it. Ratings for the second week fell 30% from the premiere, so now NBC has scheduled a HEROES marathon instead.

I'll look with interest later today at the overnight ratings to see if LIGHTS gained any ground in its third airing. The show has great critical backing, but if the viewers aren't there, NBC won't stand by it for long.

Today I must catch up on BOSTON LEGAL (especially since the DVR couldn't pick up last week's episode due to transmission problems) along with last night's SVU, VERONICA MARS, and Monday's OLD CHRISTINE. A lot to watch.

(And of course, the film has proven to be more prescient than we ever would have imagined - TV has exceeded the nightmare examples that even Chayefsky dared to imagine.)

I was thinking this exact same thing the last couple of times I saw NETWORK.  Very scary.  ;D

Well I would go over to 1757 North Orange Grove Avenue and sit on the front porch and wait for Allison to come home and give me an autograph.  8)

My question for ask BK day:

When I travel down to Los Angeles for to see BRAIN FROM PLANET X, I plan on getting out and about quite a bit. Where are some really good places to buy CDs? The kind of places that have a large eclectic selection where I could find perhaps Bollywood soundtracks, Arabain pop music, 1960s J-pop, or even Tab Hunter's greates hits?

I think the show is extremely well-acted...and the writers know when to pull out the emotional punches.

But frankly....Texas football and the community testosterone brigades that hover over it and try to govern it is the lowest form of entertainment -- the show is accurate in its depictions, but it's supposedly much worse in real life.  And that, of course, just plain sucks.
