By the way, folks on the opposite side of the office suite my group shares with them have decorated their spaces.

They're nice folks and full of the holiday spirit.

My boss asked if maybe I wasn't feeling just a bit competitive (i.e. didn't I want to start putting stuff out), I shared with her my philosophy on such things:

My purpose here on earth is to abate tackiness, not abet it.

Hello! I'm from your Government.
You can trust me.

PHOENIX AIRPORT TO TEST NEW FULL-BODY X-RAY SCREENING SYSTEM

Quote
PHOENIX  — Sky Harbor International Airport here will test a new federal screening system that takes X-rays of passenger's bodies to detect concealed explosives and other weapons.

Some say the high-resolution images — which clearly depict the outline of the passenger's body, plus anything attached to it, such as jewelry — are too invasive.

But the TSA said the X-rays will be set up so that the image can be viewed only by a security officer in a remote location. Other passengers, and even the agent at the checkpoint, will not have access to the picture.

In addition, the system will be configured so that the X-ray will be deleted as soon as the individual steps away from the machine. It will not be stored or available for printing or transmitting, agency spokesman Nico Melendez said.

Of course there is no possibility that the X-Rays themselves might pose a danger; shucks, I remember when every shoe store had a Fluoroscope, and for Christmas I got a nice new glow-in-the-dark wristwatch (nice Radium dial!). I liked to wear the radium watch while I was rubbing mercury onto my pennies to turn them into dimes!

The thought the Big G might misuse a photo image is beyond the pale!

After you, Comrade.

I take it a styrofoam creche and a plastic pink flamingo are out of the question.

Like beauty, tackiness sometimes is in the eye of the beholder! :) ... (and then... it hurts!!)

After being turned down by the IFC, we now have a NY premiere date at the end of March at the Quad Cinema in lower Manhattan. (Around the Village, maybe?) I plan to go to NY for the "event" and we hope to have a party---perhaps at my partner's apartment or somewhere closer to the theatre. We had just about given up on having a screening in NY so we are thrilled! I will hound you New Yawkers when the time nears...hope to meet as many Hainsies and Kimlets as possible!

That rather depends on what uses I might be allowed to make of them.

Poor little kitties!

What are bonita flakes?

Bonita flakes are dried shaved flakes of Bonita Tuna.  Callie goes ape over them (and if you want to see something amazing - see a cat going ape) it's her daily treat for taking her meds etc.  Boo doesn't like them

Off to mop the kitchen floor and then continue watching SOUTH PACIFIC.

For fans of JUSTICE, Fox is going to run out its already produced episodes on Fridays at 8 this month. I'll be watching tonight.

Did my mention of John Denver clear the room more quickly than Michael saying "Bollywood"?

I'll be playing Christmas CDs for the next few weeks. - I imagine the usual favourites will be most played - "The Carpenters" and "John Denver".

And of course I now have a Warner Bros collection!!

Looking for fun things to do while in L.A. and found a play titled ROCKERS written by Sherwood Schwartz and starring Lee Meriweather, Pat Crawford Brown (who plays the old lady neighbor Ida Greenberg on DESPERATE HOUSEWIFES), and Elsa Raven. It is about 3 older ladies living at the Garden Grove Retirement Hotel.

I think I may go see it on Sunday.

Hardest CD to find is a Chistmas collection which includes "Bobby Vinton singing "Oh Holy Night".  The tracks usually lead to a CD with the same title (Chistmas Wishes) but no prize.  The song does not appear on either of Mr Vinton's Chrismtas collections.

It's close to my favourite Chistmas carol. I love the versions by Linda Eder and Michael Ball.

I thought Bonita Flakes was some obscure reference to Madonna.

Well, the first thing that sprang into my mind was that Cillaliz was out of cereal.  But I had to ask....and good thing I did.
