"Albatross" is a beautiful instrumental piece by Fleetwood Mac. (1969). I think the USA missed out on it!Perhaps only Ancient Mariners remember it.

At my last School, The Principal's name was Brian.
For his 50th Birthday the Office Staff has "Brain" written (on purpose) on the cake.

If I recall albtrosses and dolphins were friends of the Mariners...

I dont think they could help Seattle's baseball team though!

Morning all.  I LOVE all of the pictures and can only say, "MORE, PLEASE!"  Nice photo of BK and his daughter. :)

Great reviews for the show.  I wish I could be there.

I hate to say it but I think I might be gearing up for round 2 of this cold/flu.  I'm coughing just as hard as I did two weeks ago, I lost my cookies yesterday  and I just  do not feel good.  I'm calling the doctor today.

I like the new picture, DR Tomovoz.  And I have to say thank you for the very thoughtful christmas gift. I feel bad that I haven't even gotten to my Christmas cards and I hate to say it but if this is round 2 of the flu or what ever it is, I don't think I will.  

I'm so tired it's taking everything I have to just make it to work and home.  I haven't decorated the house and there's no way I 'm getting on a  ladder to string lights outside.  Folks will just have to think I'm a hum bug this year.

Good morning, all!  Those photos from the parties and gatherings last weekend make me want to hop a plane and haul ass back to LA for the last weekend (sob!) of The Brain!!!

DR MBarnum, I cannot tell you enough how much I appreciated your chauffering me about the city, and I miss you, too.  I wish you'd plan your next East Coast trip to I can start planning mean things to do to you, like putting holes in your air mattress and forcing you to sleep on the fire escape again.

DRs Adriana Patti and Cason, please tell everyone backstage, in the cast, and in the band how much I miss them and the wonderful show!

This morning, I need a trek to Toyland to accept a Fed Ex package from the California office and a trip to NYPL Music Division to look at the New Mozart Edition.  I may stop at the Juilliard Bookstore and see if they have any fuil scores of the Mozart operas in the New Mozart Editiom.  After that, the laundry I stupidly left in the hamper when I did all the clothing I took to LA, and then I may tidy up a bit.

And, in honor of the late great Barnard Hughes, a photo!

Wednesday morning greetings!  Today is the last of my five-in-a-row off and I am not ready to go back to work tomorrow.  Ah, well.

It was delightful to review last night's posts and find all those wonderful photos and several continued birthday wishes.  Thank you, DRs Vixmom, TCB, and JRand (congrats on the new computer!)

Speaking of birthdays, today is the actual 90th birthday of my mother-in-law.  Remember, we had the parties in August and September?  Tonight, we will just take her out for dinner (she chose Bob Evans) and maybe for a drive to see Christmas lights.  She also requested a copy of the

which I just printed for her, for my mother, and for myself.

Good morning!

It rained during the night, but the sun has been desperately trying to peek through the clouds all morning. It was successful about a half an hour ago, but at present, the clouds are winning the war.

But it's not cold at all. Almost 50 outside at 10:30 in the morning.

The only thing left on my DVR from the last week is last Thursday's one hour MY NAME IS EARL. I should be able to get to that bat some point today.

But the #1 priority is Vol. 2 of the True-Life Adventure tin, the one which contains my favorite one THE LIVING DESERT and also THE VANISHING PRAIRIE among shorter pieces. I will be very curious to see what kind of video clean-up has been done on these since I've had VHS tapes of the features for years and am very familiar with how they looked on those.

An interview with Roy Disney at DVD Talk suggested that Disney did do extensive work on them to make them look as good as they could, allowing for the fact that the original photography was in 16 mm and they're never going to look like high definition video.

I may or may not get to THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA today. Would like to, but I'll see how time works out.

Glad you have a new computer, DR JRand. In twenty years, the computer has changed from something that I used once in a while to an indepensible tool. Can't imagine doing without one, and not just for the internet.
