elmore - I don't really hold that big a grudge, but Durang was very aware of what was going on because I told him.  I didn't speak of the situation to most, though, so I know there was some confusion as to what really went down.  The lies that were told were reprehensible, and I'm just ever so comfortable that those who were telling them will rot in hell and suffer the karma they deserve.

Of course, a lovely Christmas/New Year's present for those who haven't read it, would be Rewind, which surprisingly has a similar plot.

And now, I shall start the DVD viewing for the day - I'll finish watching the extras on Rocky (the usual bore-fest so I'm fast forwarding), then move on to one of the many piled-up DVDs.

Both my packaging and the Amazon listing say Dolby Digital 5.1

Your packaging and the Amazon listing are quite correct. I noticed it myself this afternoon when I watched the last hour oif the film. My eyes must have been VERY blurry this morning when I was seeing the readout across the room. I certainly planned to correct my error when I logged back on this afternoon.

You know, it's people on this board and my trip to NYC where I met some of you wonderful people and had a great time with DR Cillaliz that really jump-started my motivation. I got a glimpse of a lifestyle I wanted to live, and by god I'm going to get it. I always get what I want in the end lol, I'm bullheaded and will keep on pushing twords whatever goal I set my eyes on. But seriously, the people on this board are really interesting and inspire me and motivate me to do something better with myself. Thanks guys :) And a real big thanks to Cillaliz! She has been so great to me, I love her.

You're such a sweet heart. I love you too!  I'm just glad you have some motivation and a vision of what you want.  I agree with Der Brucer, if you find your job etc, go ahead and give notice while you're on vacation, but talk to them and find out if they need you to work another two weeks (customary notice) or so to get someone into your position.  You've worked hard for them for a long time, you don't want to mess up a recommendation by being inconsiderate at the end

Just had a lovely break from package-wrapping.  I watched Oprah (a rerun, I think) with the cast of Dreamgirls.  Hope to see it next weekend with my mom and her girls (my sister, my niece, and myself).

Next, I watched IT'S ACHRISTMAS TIME AGAIN, CHARLIE BROWN. Lackluster voice work from most of the chldren were partly to blame for this special misfiring.

But it's hard to measure up to the wonders that are A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS.

Well, I get protective because so many of us were completely deceived by the lies coming from the top.  Of course, by the time I knew about it, there was too much proverbial water over the dam, and at that point, I felt helpless to do anything.  I would hate to see some wonderful folk you worked with before the debacle overlooked because of what might be an unintentional act.  That's all.

Next I watched a MEDIUM episode, the one guest starring David Carradine as a psychotic mathematician doing some underhanded dealings for his brother-in-law.

I started a second MEDIUM episode (the one with Allison's brother as a bank robber), but sleep began to consume me, so I turned everything off and took a one hour nap.

What a fun morning we had!  I woke up cranky and was ready to quit my job and go into private practice, but I went to work and was at the federal building in a hearing when the client I talked about yesterday arrived. She was with her mother and I quickly learned that as they entered 4 tv cameramen started toward them. Her mom picked up a coat and held it in front of her so they didn't get a a picture of her.   One of the newsmen actually asked a court security officer if that was a ruse and someone else was behind the coat, lol.

After the hearing the tv people waited and waited. We went upstairs in the building to do some business. It took us about 2 hours. During that time a camera/newsman asked if we had left the building some other way, the court security officer said, well I think I saw them lower her from an upstairs window with a rope. The newsman reportedly said "Really?"  Anyway, I heard they left about 10 minutes before we were ready to leave so we walked out to the car with no one watching (at least that we could see).   We'll see tonight if they have any footage of her on the news.   We are really trying to avoid that.

I am offically on vacation.  I left all my work at the office and won't go pick it up until I return to town next Wednesday. This was SUCH a long week. This morning my radio alarm went off and the song was "Manic Monday" I burst out laughing and said to myself "Self, if this is Monday, I think I'm going to scream."  Then I got cranky until....see post #196

Jhvw - Not to overstate a point, but I and several of my friends are living proof that you want to treat any possible source of a good job reference with as much consideration as you possibly can.  If you're like most people, you will come up against some unreasonable bosses along the way who will not give you a reference, and you may need to dig back a bit, even decades later.  Der brucer and Cilla give great advice on this.

We bathed and groomed Sherlock this morning.  Now he is pretty and shiny for the holiday weekend.  His puppy fur is almost gone, now it is short wavy.  I miss the soft puppy fur.

 And we get pictures when.....?

Watching a region two DVD entitled The Deadly Affair which, I'm afraid, IS deadly so far.  Good cast, good director, good writer, good source novel, all to no avail, at least for the first twenty-five minutes.

Got to mop the kitchen floor now to get that Friday chore out of the way.

Then, some network/cable TV for the first time since Monday.

Doesn't covering up for/hiding from the press present a negative image?
