And now I'm watching the Kennedy Center Honors... Too bad I missed the first half.  And too bad that CBS honored Jessica Simpson's request to pull her flubbed performance of "9 to 5".  ;)

Anyway, it's time for me to leave work and go to my sister's.  She needs me to move a CD shelf for my niece.  So, I'll move the shelf. :P

I began the evening finishing BEST FOOT FORWARD. I still had about 2/3 of it to go. There were some speckles later on in the film, and there were a couple of places where there were some slight but definite color registration problems.

I did appreciate that Warners added an overture and exit music on the DVD, something that was never done with the showings on TCM or on the VHS tape I had.

Next, I put on the first episode from the season six CSI box. This is the one where Warrick admitted that he had just gotten married, much to Catherine's disappointment. The two cases were just OK: a woman almost undressed found dead in an alley and two people turned to mush in the trunk of a car.

I did tune in the VERONICA MARS rerun, and sad to say the CW had skipped some episodes to get to this one, one of the best ones of the season where Veronica was accused of plagerizing her term paper. Major clues offered about the campus rapist. Nice to see how the viewer was set up to be led away from the truth. Very clever indeed.

And since I had the cable box on, I watched the repeat of THE CLOSER concerning the death of a restaurant owner slain in the kitchen of her restaurant. Another of my favorite episodes of this past season with DOuglas Sills and John Billingsley as the primary guest stars.

My Blu-ray discs did not come today (nor did any packages arrive including a Christmas present slated to be taken to the party tomorrow night.) Hopefully these things will arrive tomorrow.

Has anyone here tried Zicam?  It's apparently very effective for minimizing cold symptoms, but it affects your taste buds by rendering them wihtout taste.  (There's an opening for a joke there, but you know what i mean.)

I started to come down with something so my mom got me these Cold-Eeze things that made me feel better, but made everything taste funky. That was okay when I was just eating a sandwich that tasted like dirt, but as soon as I opened up a Cherry Coke that tasted like 7Up, I knew things had gone too far. I decided I would rather be sick and drinking Cherry Coke than healthy and drinking 7Up. I do have my priorities. So that was the end of the Cold-Eeze.

And that was that.

What a long day this has been! I'm heading for bed now hoping for more sleep than I got last night.

Good night!

Cillaliz, just wipe them with a cloth and see how that does.  Should be a soft cloth that doesn't "shed".  With the turntable I got that hooks directly to the computer, you can actually transfer them at the 45 speed and the computer then corrects to 78, which it sounds like they are.  If they're 331/3, then you're fine.  They sound like acetates.

Thanks BK.  Dad has a place that transferred some for him in the past. They are 78s, and I think they are acetates (I noticed a little silver metal under a small chip. We decided not to listen to them so we don't make matters worse until they are transferred to CD.

My DH was still under the weather today so I popped some popcorn and we settled in with "Aventurera".

Wonderfulness!  "I'll never forget you. Here's my card". LOL!

Those dance numbers are something else!

Thanks again, MBarnum!

I couldn't log on to the site a little while ago!

I'm about to ready myself for a friend's Birthday Party at an Indian Restaurant. MBarnum would be pleased.

Then we watched a good documentary on Klaus Nomi. I enjoyed seeing all the rare archival footage and it was very nicely put together.
