Well, you've read the notes, the notes were not frozen, and now it is time for you to post until the frozen cows come home.

So last night I received a present from my mother that I picked out, one of which I can already tell is going to change my life. It is called “Le Chic Chick Knows…”, and consists of three decks of flashcard type index’s that inform an un-chic chick like me how to be Intelligent, Elegant, and Strong. One Hundred and fifty cards later I shall have evolved into more intelligent, more elegant, and stronger version of myself.

Tonight’s Tip: (I will translate it from Chic terms to ordinary English) If you admire a particular brand name, artist, or founder of any sort, take the time to research who they are. This way you are not caught at a party knowing Jane Fonda’s name but not one whit about her.

In following tonight’s tip I looked up who the creator of my favorite song ever was. "Baby, It's Cold Outside" is a pop standard with words and music by Frank Loesser. The female voice in the song is called "The Mouse" and the male "The Wolf." In 1948--after years of informally performing the song at various parties--Loesser sold its rights to MGM, which inserted the song into its 1949 motion picture, Neptune's Daughter. The film featured two performances of the song: one by Ricardo Montalbán and Esther Williams and the other by Red Skelton and Betty Garrett. These performances earned Loesser an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

I, of course, recorded Baby, It's Cold Outside in a very unique version - with Charles Nelson Reilly as The Mouse, and Karen Morrow as The Wolf - most amusing - it's on A Hollywood Christmas.

George is just sitting there like a dead herring in the moonlight.  Oh, well, I shall now get under covers and watch a bit more of The Return Of Dr. Mabuse.

Yesterday, I finally got the hole in my wall fixed (the hole that had to be cut in my wall so that the neighbor's pipe could be fixed after it burst because of freezing weather at the end of November)!  The owner of the condo next to mine (whose pipe burst) is a contractor and he fixed the wall...and quite well, too.  Now all that needs to happen is the painting.  My sister picked out the color of the paint and has some left over.

I'm not just sitting here like a dead herring in the moonlight.  Okay, I am just sitting here, but not like a dead herring.  I'm also watching a recording of Friday's episode of "The David Letterman Show" with guest Kristin Chenoweth.  She didn't sing.

Time for us to select a DVD for tonight's viewing. I hope it's not a melt down like the Ice Age from last night.

Good morning, all!  I was hoping I'd wake this morning to snow, but 'snow such luck.  for all of us wishing a snowfall, here's a Nutcracker Waltz of the Snowflakes.  I couldn't find a photo of Balanchine's beautiful staging for NYC Ballet.

So, today I see my barber, and  then I shall visit Ben and Anthony to celebrate laast month's holidays.  After that, I have my first of several 3-hour sessions to record the new "virtual" orchestrations of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN.  I shall return later in the afternoon, and perhaps accomplish a bit of work on Toyland.
