DR Ron, sometimes I feel like Kenneth Mars.  "I did not write this!  What is this 'babee'?  I did not write this babee!"

JRand - re your post #82 - are you confusing me with DR DtM?  I would never give such practical advice; I'd tell you to spend loads of money and have it done by a licensed tax man.  :)

Yikes!  Well - it's not the first time I have been confused about the identity of a couple of men.  8)

Yikes!  Well - it's not the first time I have been confused about the identity of a couple of men.  8)

In 1973, when I worked the box office of the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, I received this phone call.  It was a deep voice that went "mumble mumble mumble . . ."
I said, "I'm having trouble hearing you.  Can you speak up?"
The voice said, "mumble, mumble, mumble . . ."
I said, "I can't hear you, sir, can you speak a bit louder?"
The voice clearly said, "This is Martha Graham! May I speak to Walter Terry?"

A ha!  I did find an E-File service through information in the instruction book!

So once I find out the Federal ID number of WOW, I can move ahead.

"Good Thing...." was recorded by Christine Lavin herself during her stint as one of the "Four Bitchin' Babes".  She recorded it for an album by the same title as the song, and I also remember a live "Bitchin' Babes" concert recording.   A great song.  One of the teachers at Catholic University used to give it out to her students.

Christine Lavin is one of those singer-songwriters who along with others like Nanci Griffiths are Julie Gold are continuing the "folk" legacy of people like Pete Seeger, Peter, Paul & Mary.

For a particularly "entertaining" record, I'd suggest her album, "Getting In Touch With My Inner Bitch".  ;)  And some of the "Four Bitchin' Babes" albums have had some inventive Beatles-type cover art.

*However, she also writes some wonderful children's songs too.

I've seen the Four Bitchin' Babes live here in Olympia...alas, without Christine Lavin.  They were all fabulous and gave a wonderful concert! ;D

11.dave and mary

.

Too hard (the question, that's not the word).  I like "blessed",  I like "strange", I like "lucky" - but I'm open to others.

I like "unique" or "original" - for you BK, not me.

Ya know, for a manufactured bubble-gum pop band, The Monkees' stuff still sounds pretty good.  Where is their jukebox musical?

Wednesday greetings!

...I'd tell you to spend loads of money and have it done by a licensed tax man.  :)

DR FJL, one of the factors to which I attribute the 26-year marriage that DH Richard and I celebrate today is the fact that we've always had our taxes prepared professionally.

It should have been cancelled in 1999... better yet never allowed to air!

I understand there is a new DVD set coming out next month titled, THE BEST OF PASSIONS.  It contains six blank disks.

Ginny-HAVE A VERY HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Thanks, Jane.  I'm leaving work early and Richard and I are going out to dinner at The Meadows, one of our favorite restaurants.

Well...to me, that was in line with all that I thought I understood.  They weren't AGAINST his being there...they just couldn't afford to be there...and that was what he regretted.  His mother was totally excited for him...and his crying was a perfectly logical reaction to having his mom express that excitement.

I don't think a 16-year-old boy is going to do much of anything without total parental consent and support.  Sometimes, though, parents cannot financially attend every function because the costs run high.

For my 2 cents, I totally inferred that his parents were not especially supportive emotionally.  Just from the way that he talked about it, his expression, etc. I really viewed his talk of expense to be the kind of rationalization that people do to make things less hurtful. But that could just be me reading things into it. Maybe we'll have the chance to learn more.

I have a cold. It feels like an ear/nose/throat thing. I should have stayed home today but instead chose to sleep in then come in for a very important meeting.  I'm glad I did cause it went well and will hopefully lead to more positive things for one of my cases.

For a while in the fall The Monkees was being broadcast on WPXN Channel 31 in the NYC area. It was a double header with The Monkees at 6pm and The Partridge Family at 6:30. I guess it didn't pull in the ratings they expected because they are no longer broadcasting either show. I was hoping to catch Bruce's PF episodes, but not this time around. Oh, well.
