Priscilla, I think this link at WBUR in Boston will let you listen to the interview. Edi, is this correct?

Sacco and Vanzetti

That's where we were. I'm in the engineer booth with the producer, correcting info that she was feeding to the host as we were taping, and Peter and Maryanne, one of our scholars, were interviewed by Bob Oakes.

The Car Talk guys, Click and Clack, were in the next room working on their show. I wish I could have met them!

She has Philly good taste.

Pan fried oysters popular at home?

I vaguely recall something like that but I'm not sure.  It was strictly grown-up fare.

If anyone is in the mood, I could use some help. I'm on the LGBTQ committee for our residential division and one of my tasks is to help put together a list of movies for our film night. The audience will be LGBTQ teens- middle school and high school aged.  Right now we're just brainstorming titles and most of what I've come up with so far are R rated- which is okay but I'd like a little variety.  Here is what I've come up with so far:

Set it Off
Boys Don't Cry
In & Out
The Birdcage
But I'm a Cheerleader
Camp
Longtime Companion
The Brandon Teena Story
Object of My Affection
Edge of Seventeen
Ma Vie En Rose
Get Real
Different for Girls
Beautiful Thing
The Incredibly True Story of Two Girls in Love

If anyone has other films they've enjoyed and I've left off, please let me know. Thanks!

Some of my fav teen flicks -- but may be too dated and may not be what you're looking for:

Sixteen Candles
The Breakfast Club
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Back to the Future and sequels
Edward Scissorhands

Others that teens might enjoy:  Indiana Jones series, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, and Monty Pythons Holy Grail (most silly)
Good messages:  To Kill A Mockingbird and Chariots of Fire

Back from doing a few errands.  Waiting to hear from Mr. Geissman about picking up the newly mixed Kritzer Time CD.  I shall endeavor to write another few paragraphs.

I'm not sure if "Personal Best" would be a title for that group. But...it's definitely along the lines of....

It does have some nudity, however.

"Maurice" is simply superb.  It, too, has a bit of nudity in one scene.

TPunk ~ I realize the movies I suggested are most generic teen fare, so may not have the story line/messages needed for your crowd, but they're entertaining and the comedies might be fun just to throw one or two of those into the mix for something silly if silly is called for.

I think it would be awfully funny if this production of Grease got stuck with those two.

If you look deep, deep within the rules of the show, you'll see a clause which gives the producers discretionary power to make all final decisions for the good of the show. (IDOL has a similar clause.)

There is NO way David Ian would have those two people for his Danny and Sandy.

My friend John had to stop off at Target for a few things while we were at lunch, so I got an unexpected but very welcome trip to Target out of the lunch appointment. I needed some things there and was going later this week, but that took care of my need to go and was most welcome.

When I got home, I watched last night's EXTRAS with simply hilarious shenanigans from Rickey Gervais and company. Daniel Radcliffe was the principal guest star (Diana Rigg also made a couple of quick appearances including a marvelous sequence with a condom.) A terrific half hour of ridiculous comedy.

I then watched last night's COLD CASE, a melancholy story of a double homicide in 2002 now being revisited. Another cop broke up with his lady friend. This season, three of the cops on the series have ended relationships with their significent others.

TPunk - Do you know the film FRIENDS AND FAMILY?  It's a little different from the films on your list.  It's about two gay men who are a couple and also gangsters for the mob, but it's got very affirmative message about gay relationships and acceptance by others.  (One of my best friends wrote the screenplay, and Skip wrote a song that's in the movie.)

Tonight I will watch HEROES and maybe WHAT ABOUT BRIAN.  I already watched STUDIO 60 last night.

I won't give anything anyway but the show was not about the comedy show. It was mostly about Harriet's dinner.  And Hiro (from HEROES makes a guest appearance in one scene).

It's a To Be Continued episode.
