There is still much yard work to be done, and once spring really kicks in it will all look much nicer (everything still has that winter look to it). But it all looks much better then it did when I began Saturday morning!

HA! I stripped the wall paper off one wall in the bathroom, scrubbed the bathroom and kitchen floors on my hands and knees (as my mother says "It's the only way to really get them clean") ran the vacuum throughout the rest of the house, went to the grocery store, peeled apples and made an apple crisp that is now baking in the oven, threw out a bunch of garbage and.... oh yeah, right after I signed off earlier I made a homemade corned beef hash for lunch...passed out....yeah right

Well, the A Train is running "local" this weekend due to track work (there are no C Trains this weekend which normally run "local"). So, after quite a long wait at 23rd Street for a train uptown, an A Train pulled up, quite packed with people, and I packed myself in with them. 34th... 42nd... 50th... 59th...

"Due to the fact this train is running late, this A Train will be making express stops past 59th Street/Columbus Circle. The next stop will be 125th Street, followed by 145th Street. If you require local service, please wait for the next A Train."

-At that point I cheered. Silently. But I cheered.

-And I was home just three stops later.

The pitched roof features wooden shingles. The detailing is fantastic. It even has eyelets for the laces! Note the flower beds with the kitten playing in the front yard. The boot has a bit of a heel, so the artist has even provided our little old lady with steps leading to the front door - note the pots at the foot of the stairs.
