The dinner party was wonderful. 5 couples dining in the midst of a boxwood parterre planted in the 1800's. We dined under the arbor, which was covered in muscadine grape vines. Our hostess hasn't found any good use for the grapes yet.

Everyone loved the chicken dip and polished it off quickly.

I forgot to ask what you serve with the dip.... crackers, bread, chips, fish?

Bagel chips seem to work well!

I thought I was going to bed.

In my list of films, I realized that INSIDE MOVES isn't really much of a sports movie, but it's still really good! I read the reviews on IMDB and there were nothing but raves. So why isn't it on DVD?

I don't remember that one, what was it about....other than something for Joey

SOMETHING FOR JOEY is based on the true story of Hiesman Trophy winner John Cappelletti and his brother who is diagnosed with leukemia.  It was a TV movie with Geraldine Page and Marc Singer.  The speech that Marc Singer delivers in the film is almost word for word the same speech given at the Hiesman banquet.  I cry when I see either one.

I guess I'd better get to sleep.  Thought I'd make it to see post 500 live, so to speak, but I'm fading.

I never thought we'd make it, but thanks to the pluck and guile of certain dear readers, by gum and by golly and buy bonds, we have.

And as a little pat on the back I will divulge that as of tomorrow morning this month, with six days to go, will have already achieved the highest number of hits - that's the area that's always hardest to beat, and we'll have done it by noon and with six count them six days to go.  If we keep up our average, we'll just squeak by our all-time highest number of postings, too.  Right now, as of tomorrow, we'll have achieved the second highest posting month, and again, we've got six days to go.

Did it take a lot of coaxing? They look so well behaved.

Cool!!  Perhaps if the stars are aligned and the web is gentle we just might tie the previous high posting month...

In honor of that, I'm going to buy some boinds.  Or maybe cash one in - I actually found an old savings bond from 20 years ago.
