I bought a couple of bargain CDs yesterday to listen to on the drive: Best of Eydie, Leroy Anderson hits, and bagpipe music.

That's a nice, ecclectic mix!     :) :)

In fact, I have come and gone, or is it gone and come.  I was first in line for car servicing (the only one who'd made an appointment, too) - they say the car could be ready by noon, but I seriously doubt it.  I have rehearsal from noon to three, so I just hope it's ready by three, since rehearsal is in Van Nuys very close to the dealership.

They gave me a nice G35 to drive, but I must say, my car, even close to ten years on, drives better.  More horses, you know.  I have never kept a car this long, but knock wood, it's been the best car I've ever had and I've owned it outright since the day I bought it (I had it delivered to my house the day the first of many The Faculty checks arrived).

Thanks, Ginny.  I know that I will probably have to endure a third back surgery eventually.  My biggest fear is that by the time they finish working on my back, I will end up being shorter than Tomovoz.  My hip replacements and back surgeries have already cost me three inches of height.  When I was in college, I was 6' 1" tall; now I am barely 5' 10".

We trust the more vital extremity has maintened its proportions :)

Good morning!

Another gorgeous day here with highs in the 60s which looks to be the norm for the next five days or so. Looking forward to being out in the fresh air later today running my errands.

I decided to record those clips shows last night so I could speed through them without commercials. I was enjoying GREY'S organization of the clips very much. Don't know that BETTY will have so much to work with from being on the air only eight months.

Of all the composers of the Golden Age, I seem to know the least about Kurt Weill, and I'm less familiar with his shows than with anyone else's, too. I would welcome a good biography of his life and times.

I guess I'll head out. I don't know how long it will take me to get there or what I'll do until the meeting starts. I'd rather be early than late, but I don't think our meeting is in a particularly safe area.

Guess I need to head down now and clean up a bit for my Friday errands. I have to add stops at the post office and drug store to my usual stops at the ATM and grocery store, so a lot of running around to do. Thanksfully, they're all in the same shopping center. Very convenient!

And speaking of MEDIC, have any DRs here ever seen this 1950s tv series (stars Richard Boone)? It is quite fascinating and very realistic. It is the only tv show from the 50s that I have ever seen that allowed the characters to use the words like "breast" or "sperm." Some very grim and adult subject manner in the episodes I have seen.

Quite a good show and it can be found very inexpensively at bargain stores or on Netflix.
