DR Ginny, if DH Richard is well enough to attend the theatre tonight, that sounds like a good thing.   :)

The 80s medley KILLED.  It consisted of Girls Just Want To Have Fun, I Want To Dance With Somebody, I'm So Excited, Lost In Your Eyes, Material Girl, Eternal Flame, and Flashdance (What A Feeling) - all put together very cleverly.

Yes, DR singdaw, he slept much better last night and I think he's looking forward to getting out and about some today.

For those who are interested, here's Merissa's set list:

Astonishing
A Summer In Ohio
Lion Tamer
You Can Always Count On Me
Is It Really Me?
Girls Just Want To Have Fun (The 80s Medley)
It's A Fine, Fine Line
If I Were A Bell
Wherever He Ain't/Time Heals Everything
Happily Ever After
For Good
Gimme Gimme
How Did We Come To This? (Encore)

Great line-up!  So-o-o-o, is there a CD in the future?

BK, I agree with you about the choeography in that MARY POPPINS video clip.  It was most underwhelming.  It certainly didn't make me want to run out and see the production.

BK, Julieanne and I used to go to that French film festival every year.  Hope you're getting VIP treatment.  The opening night reception was always a lot of fun...met a lot of celebs.  Jack Valenti introduced me to Jacqueline Bisset once.  When I was on the board of the WGA, we used to have a luncheon with a lot of the French folk...actors, writers, dignitaries that used to come to it.  I'm assuming this is the City of Lights, City of Angels festival.

Starting to finalize (is that a contradiction?) theatergoing plans for my jaunt to Pittsburgh from Thurs. night through Sunday afternoon - going with Ronni to see Ahrens and Flaherty's The Glorious Ones on Friday night, then joining the delightful Ann (of All That Chat) to see a local production of Ntozake Shnage's 1970's hit For Colored Girls... on Sat. night.  (There's a local production of Reefer Madness that's a possibility for the Sat. matinee, but I'm wondering if that's worth seeing onstage since there's a TV version so readily available.)

Funny how, out of the many clips I posted about the Poppins show, this is the only one that is commented about! How can one judges a show from one technically faulted clip from Le Poulailler of the theater while it is a different approach from the film sequence AND that the SUPERCALI.... number is quite smashing to me!
Bah umbugh! It's true that the whole production is from Uk! That might have something to do with it!
I guess the people who go and enjoy that show must be jerks and shallow folks!
Sometimes there are so many negative VIBES here that it makes me want to vomit unto the ground!

I once was told to "loosen up!" or something to that effect here! I'm tempted to say the same now!

And I thought I was one critical guy!

Oh well! Life goes on.... ;D

Is this another slow news day here at haineshisway.com?

I'm busy reading the buzz about bees HERE and HERE

Quote
One of the possible causes identified by environmentalists is, of course, global warming, because global warming causes everything from my aunt’s gout to the performance of the Kansas City Royals. Other hypothetical triggers might include sunspots; in continental Europe, they naturally perceive a link to genetic modification of crops, as this is their standby excuse for everything bad that can’t be rationally blamed on either global warming or George Bush.

The case against handsets
Evidence of dangers to people from mobile phones is increasing. But proof is still lacking, largely because many of the biggest perils, such as cancer, take decades to show up.
Most research on cancer has so far proved inconclusive. But an official Finnish study found that people who used the phones for more than 10 years were 40 per cent more likely to get a brain tumour on the same side as they held the handset.

Equally alarming, blue-chip Swedish research revealed that radiation from mobile phones killed off brain cells, suggesting that today's teenagers could go senile in the prime of their lives.

Studies in India and the US have raised the possibility that men who use mobile phones heavily have reduced sperm counts. And, more prosaically, doctors have identified the condition of "text thumb", a form of RSI from constant texting

Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) occurs when a hive's inhabitants suddenly disappear, leaving only queens, eggs and a few immature workers...

Gee, sounds like a an Easter egg-dying party in West Hollywood!
