My WORST experience in a restaurant was in the States, when the customers walked out WITHOUT paying and my supervisor (YES! I was the waiter!) asked me to pay their bill... something that,I learned too late, is illegal!
Needless to say, I did NOT make money (tips) that shift and, I don't recall, but might have been in for a few bucks too!

From then on, I did not use the "book" in which we had to put the bill; I then brought the bill on a small plate, period!

Thinking now about that event, I think the people were "foolish" NOT to spend more since their 4 meals were on me!

Have you ever had a McDonald's Filet-O-Fish that was still partially frozen??  That was the worst for me.  I got it from the drive-thru one night and driven a couple of blocks before I realized what had happened.  I turned around and drove all the way back and went inside to get a new one.  The replacement wasn't frozen, but it still wasn't very warm, either. :P

You mean.... something was fishy about your Filet-O-Fish?!

Got the same problem when buying some éclairs at my local supermarket; they were still half-frozen but tasted like ice-cream bars! Don't you love our modern world? ;)

Is this a slow news day here at haineshisway.com?  Why must we fall into these patterns, I wonder?  Last year, May was one of our all-time low months.

Once at Burger King, my burger was simply cold, so i brought it back to the counter and the guy heated it up.  But as if in revenge for my complaint,. he made it insanely hot, even scorching.

So maybe in the world of food, revenge is a dish best served scorching hot.

No spoilers.

I must say i've heard basically nothing about the new ABC show TRAVELER (is that what it is called?).  I'm not sure if they've been plugging it (although the GREY'S ANATOMY lead-in might just save them).  But i'm really enjoying the show. I really like one of the leads (i think his name is something like ron bohmer).  And i'm curious to see the end.

I am watching a very cute 1955 musical that my DVR recorded the other day...BRING ALONG YOUR SMILE...all I can say is Lucy Marlow should have had a bigger career! She is wonderful in this movie!

Now if I could just get her to respond to my letters requesting an interview!

UGLY BETTY was so full of plots, I cannot wait for next week's finale to see how much they wrap up.  My dinner with friends was quite wonderful, and after two margaritas I'm feeling little pain.

I wonder if I'm facing more dreams about Nehemiah Persoff tonight?  If Alla Nazimova shows up as well, it should be interesting.  Oy!

I watched the documentary on the second disc of the THIRD MAN set on the making of the film. It's the same documentary that aired on the Independent Film Channel a year or two ago. It has some interesting things in it, but the clips from the film go on too long, and often they're "artily" projected onto banks of snow, walls, venetian blinds, etc. Very pretentious. A film masterpiece like THE THIRD MAN doesn't need that kind of presentation to signal its greatness.

All that clip stuff extended it to 93 minutes, about 20 minutes too long for the information they had to impart.

Yes, I loved UGLY BETTY. Some secrets spilled; others still being worked on.

DR Elmore, you know how these kinds of shows love cliffhangers, so I wouldn't count on too many of these plots to get wrapped up next week. They're going to keep us on edge all summer.

I also read that ABC is contemplating moving UGLY BETTY to Sunday night next year as a lead-in to DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. I hope this does NOT happen.

GREY'S ANATOMY had some memorable events tonight, but I have to say

that introducing a new woman into Derek's life is not going to sit well with me. They have to keep separating this couple by all these artificial means, and I'm afraid folks are going to lose patience with the show.

WITHOUT A TRACE had a story tonight that seemed to be about a woman kidnapped in the street, but it rather cleverly turned into the kidnapping of her daughter. It was a neat little twist.

I have to say I was not the LEAST interested in the continuing storyline with Elena and her stalker ex-husband, and it looks like this plot is going right ahead into next season. Yuck!

So, on top of all the shows I recorded tonight, I still have both THE SOPRANOS and SVU from this week that are still unwatched.

And, oops, I forgot to record SUPERNATURAL tonight. Well, it's the first part of a two part episode, so I guess they'll recap it at the first of next week's show.

I went to a different office furniture store today and the salesman really irritated me. He said he needed to see the space then he could tell me everything I need and he handed me a catalogue that didn't fit at all with what I told him I had in mind.   Don't think I'll go back there

I told him I had my own ideas about how I wanted to decorate and he said "Well I'll have to look at it"   Oh please, he is not the arbiter of style for my office.
