HAPPY HAPPENSTANCES

Well, you've read the notes, the notes marched to the beat of a different drum, and now it is time for you to post until the happy cows come home.

Last night, I went to rehearsal and we rehearsed for the first hour or so outside the church where we're rehearsing.  The sun was going down and it wasn't too cold, but it got a little too dark for people to read their scripts, so we went inside, where we spent the next hour.  A few of us were able to leave at about 9:00 pm, so I went to Fred Meyer and then went home.

When I got home, I found a package in my mailbox!  I had ordered the complete seasons 1 & 2 of the original British version of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (only available in the US) and Part 1 of Season 1 of the uncensored American version of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" ;) I can't wait to watch them!

Here in Olympia, there used to be (still is?) an improv comedy troupe called Scatterbrains.  I'd only seen them once, but they were funny.  Six of the American "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" guys have gone on tour together and come to Olympia!  They were hysterical! ;D

Some of the people in "Taming of the Shrew" and "Cannibal!" have done some improv acting (not necessarily comedy) and the thought of ME doing improv scares the crap out of me. ::) Here are my Ask BK Day questions for anyone:

Have you ever performed in any kind of improv setting, whether regular acting or comedy?  Have you done any improv acting exercises...acting games and things like that?  Did you like it?  Was it horrifying??

Have you ever performed in any kind of improv setting, whether regular acting or comedy?

While in High School I attended a week long summer church camp. We were presenting an ad-lib Saint Joan and I had been type cast as the humble cleric on his knees at the stake praying for her soul. The director had instructed the cast of-stage to make "appropriate crowd noises" while the faux flames burned. My pious demeanor was forever destroyed when a strong off-stage voice cheered out "There She Goes!" My ultimately unsuccessful attempts to keep from rolling on the floor with laughter were the highlight of the evening.

Now the only "stake" near which I pray is from a Black Angus.

ASK BK

I just noticed on the original release of the David Shire CD (Bay Cities) the musical movements for the Reurn of Oz suite are indicated by the word index. Can you explain the use of indexes on cd tracks?

Yes, DR EDISAURUS, I have seen Brenda's clip....very entertaining...and I believe that very house turned out to be the subject of a VERY bitter divorce a bit later....Brenda even spent time in jail because of it.  Makes it even better, don't you think?

Yes, DRLAURA - everyone needs new towel hangers!

Good morning, all!  The first draft of guidelines is finished so I'm back to Toyland this morning, and then I go to NYPL and historic newspapers.  Much as I don't want to, I have to dig out more theatre scrapbooks from 1912 in my search for the creation of THE LADY OF THE SLIPPER, a show I would never be working on if I had my choice.

LAW & ORDER SVU had tons of hangovers to next season: is Dann Florek leaving? Will Stabler's daughter go to jail? How will IA react to Benson's confession? What about Finn's sociopath stepson? Oy!

I may finally see HOT FUZZ late this afternoon.  Nothing is frozen.

And I am not sure but the recent American release MAY have been a remake or based upon the Mexican QUINCENEARAS which is a very good movie....it's no AVENTURERA, but then, what is?

Checking the imdb listing for QUINCENEARAS.....no, I don't think it was based on the Mexican film.....

And the word of the day is: CATACHRESIS!

I had a slight CATACHRESIS this morning when two of them threw up simultaneously. I don't think I was doing anything in particular to elicit that reaction.

Ask BK Day!

(1)  As the director of THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X, did you find yourself making any changes to the characters that you, as the author, had created; based on the actors you cast in the first production?

(2)  Did you ever get around to watching the DVD of NATIONAL PASTIME?

My question for ASK BRUSHES DAY:

If you could do a commentary on any film that hasn't been released on DVD yet, what film would it be?

Good morning all!

I am very much looking forward to seeing the finale of LOST tonight.

Since here it is on the same channel as AMERICAN IDOL they are showing it at 7pm and then at 10pm.  But i will not be home at 7pm. But i'm thinking i will watch the first hour when i get home. And then watch the end of IDOL. And then I'll watch the last hour at 10pm. Yeah!  It's supposed to be a real good one! I can't wait.

RE: the results above.  I'm not surprised.  Especially after hearing that final song. It really suited jordin. And i do like her. I just wanted blake to win.  I was really hoping that he would have changed the final song and beat boxed to it. I think that would have actually given him a chance to win (i wonder if they would have let him do that).  As it was, the song just made it apparent that he could not sing that kind of song.  And since it completely suited jordin (and she sounded so great singing it) it made her crowning a foregone conclusion. :(

Morning greetings to all. I am off from work today in honor of Shavuot.

I will start by meeting my friend to layout in Central park. Then we'll meet up with my roommate at a pub to watch the Liverpool soccer game. If they win we will celebrate by shopping for household items at Target. If they lose we will drown our sorrows by shopping for household items at Target. Then tonight I hope to meet up with Rodzinski to upgrade his cellphone and grab a bite.
