Now is I assume that the columns are corinthian I could also make the assumption that BK gets an honorable mention in Letters to the Corinthians. Did you know the apostle Paul BK? Were you at School together?

No it's not Martin Mull OR td, or even a man!

OH! OH! OH!  (A "Welcome Back Kotter" reference)

If it's not Martin Mull, nor td, nor even a man... It must be one of those Martians they just found on Mars!!!

Where's my prize?  (Ah, an Assassins reference.)

That is indeed Jim Stanek, whom I knew from his days at Carnegie-Mellon.

And, the BK connection is far more personal than that, if you catch my drift.

BK AND JIM STANEK WERE LOVERS??  ;)

DR Jose: Started with the Matt Bogart music last night. What a terrific selction of material. Good mix and no compulsion to include ALW. Top version of "Proud Lady"

Jim Stanek played Jimmy in Thoroughly Modern Millie before Gavin Creel took it to Broadway and now Juliana is doing her Millie tour journal?

I know it's not a direct "6 Degrees of Separation" but it is a connection.  Does it work for you?

Tomovoz - I'm with you, RENT doesn't do a whole lot for me.  This is based on the recording, as I have not seen it on stage.

Wild Party - I don't know from the Lippa, but I do enjoy the LaChiusa recording from time to time.  More so the first half (or two-thirds) of the show.

Congrats to our newly godly George... Guess that's what I get for going back to bed for a few hours. :D

Then he opened his arms to give me a hug and went on his way. I turned around to all of my friends giggling and saying, "AWW!" It was...interesting. They always find a way to tease me!

Jennifer I gather you have an Italian charm bracelet.  So which charms have you collected?

I just got it a few weeks ago at Club Price of all places (they had a booth). There I only got a J, a pink heart, and a diamond and purple birth type stones. But last week some women told me about getting charms on ebay. I did buy two there that I haven't received.  My aunt who got a charm watch for X-mas is excited because she won a 50 charm lot on ebay.I cannot wait to see that (even though they will not all be for me).

DR Jed/Jee/Jugs: The Cd of Rent is a lot easier to cope with than the stage performance. Maybe it's just not a Washington thing! TCB agrees.

Liked the CD of Rent and feel that musicals should never be shown in montreal just because the sound at Place des Arts is awful.

Happy B-day DR Evil Twin.

And yes, Jennifer, I did make it out today (didn't skip like yesterday). I'm still very sick-- much to the disappointment of CYGOPP who doesn't understand why I won't kiss him.

In other news, In class, I managed to actually win one of our course books after the teacher did a draw for it. And I say I'm unlucky.

Or perhaps she's the real singing nun?

That sounds like a good explanation to me, Tom.  Of course, now we'll just have to ship DR Ann back to Hawaii, as I know she is somewhat a fan of the score.

I'm afraid I must out myself as someone who rather enjoys Rent.  I'm sorry to betray the Washington clan :)  I'll fully admit to it's flaws, and that there are many many superior shows, but for some reason it grew on me a few summers ago.

DR Ann: Is there some decontamination unit in Tacoma that you can use."Rent" sounds like a fungus and should be treated. I think DR WFO has alluded to "Seasons" in his Math classes.

Perhaps the question of whether or not Assassins should be considered a "new" musical or a revival hinges upon who the producers are.

Case in point: The recent production of Metamorphises originated in Chicago, and was subsequently produced in both Seattle and Los Angeles before moving to off-Broadway.  After considerable success OB, it transferred to Broadway, and I believe won the Tony for Best Play, or was at least nominated.  All through the extended period prior to Broadway, it kept the same basic production team and cast.  It was the original production, and therefor a "new" play.

Case in point: On the other hand, Little Shop of Horrors was originally produced off Broadway, and has subsequently had numerous productions across the country and the world (plus a film version).  The current production is NOT the work of the original production team, nor does it include the original cast.  It therefor should be considered a revival.

I understand that Weidman has done some revisions to the book, and Sondheim loves to tinker with things he's written before.  However, the Broadway staging of Assassins does not involve the original producers, designers or cast.  It has had major productions in several cities, and in some cases more than one per city.  It is no longer the original work.  It is thus a revival.

Just so that everyone knows...

A&E's Breakfast with the Arts is going to feature a segment on Idina and Kristin from WICKED this week.  The show airs on Sunday morning at 8am.  I most definitely will be taping it! :)

DR Jane, thank you so very much for the compliment! You are so sweet!

DR Andrea: You're just like my friends! Wah! :)

I have just returned from teaching the voice classes at the academy. The teacher had a migraine, so I, as her assistant, took over today. It was quite fun! I must say, as much as I thought my old teacher was overly strict, I truly learned a lot from her. I was so glad I was able to pass mechanics and techniques along to the kids. Also, my main boss was there, and he was very pleased with my work! I'm glad he trusted me to run the lessons. Perhaps this will also lead to a paying position. (I'm a volunteer.) My main boss and the voice teacher have not seen eye to eye lately, and as much as I like her, I agree with him (boss man). He and the teacher were supposed to have a meeting today, which didn't happen. He has a feeling she may quit because he has a specific idea in mind, and she might not be fond of it. Who knows? All I can say is I saw growth today in the kids, and I'm so proud of them! I know I may be stricter than the regular teacher, but sometimes that's necessary. They used their time wisely today, and it really showed.
