BUT ENOUGH ABOUT ME

Well, you've read the notes, the notes walked through here like it were a public convenience, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently boogie-boarding in Santa Moonica.

TOD: Car CD-DROWSY CHAPERONE

I'm so glad we went to see it when we did, with so many of the original cast. It's hard for me to picture Joanne Worley as Mrs. Tottendale!

My DH heard a story about Dusty Springfield on NPR and was intrigued by her, so we started checking out more of her music. I missed most of it when it first came out!

My favourite female pop singer of all time and right up there with the classy vocalists such as Peggy Lee.  She knew what the lyrics meant.

Dusty would have been one of the first singers to sing Randy Newman's songs.

My mom sent this to me. It looks photoshopped but here are a whole series of photos of this tiger mom interacting with her surrogates, so I think it's real. Here's the story---maybe some DR's remember it:

In a zoo in California, a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set of triplet tiger cubs. Unfortunately, due to complications in the pregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size, they died shortly after birth.

The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery, suddenly started to decline in health, although physically she was fine. The veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the tigress t o fall into a depression. The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogate another mother's cubs, perhaps she would improve.

After checking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs of the right age to introduce to the mourning mother. The veterinarians decided to try something that had never been tried in a zoo environment. Sometimes a mother of one species will take on the care of a different species. The only orphans" that could be found quickly, were a litter of weaner pigs. The zoo keepers and vets wrapped the piglets in tiger skin and placed the babies around the mother tiger. Would they become cubs or pork chops?

Take a look...you won't believe your eyes!!

There's a great video on YouTube of a cat who is friends with a chicken. I think it's in China. Really amazing to see how they interact. The cat even sleeps with the chicken!
