Actually, no the Epsteins did not write the unproduced play, Everybody Comes to Rick's, upon which Casablanca was based. It is no longer unproduced either...some years back some waiver house actually produced it here in LA.  I did not see it!

I went to www.imdb.com and read about the Epstein brothers and the little paragraph about "Casablanca" and I stand corrected (oops! :-[ )  I knew that they had co-written the screenplay and that it was based on an at-the-time unproduced play.  I guess I assumed that they had written the play also, since they had written the unproduced play upon which Saturday Night is based.

Ha!  I'd heard I was on the CWU promotional stuff this year, but didn't know what picture it might have been.  I found out about it when subbing one day and some students I knew told me, "Hey, Slaughter!  Your face is all over the Central flyer!"  Well, the school did give me a free education (thank you, Alumni Association scholarship!), so I suppose I can let them use my glorious likeness for now. :D

The trick is to find a way to maintain that glittering gaiety -- in some fashion -- all the year long!!!

But Ron, isn't that why we have you???

I was on one of the OCU music department's audition posters, as well as the playbill covers for the school's shows. They had us pose, though. I gave my mom a copy of the poster and she ended up making copies and giving framed versions to my grandparents as Christmas gifts. Our old audition poster is still hanging in all of their living rooms...oy!

The pic which DR Ann posted was taken in an elevator at Key Arena in Seattle as we were about to sing the national anthem for a Seattle Sonics basketball game.  And the gal in the cap in front of me is my dearest friend from college, Jessica.

We don't even have ice Ron. It is the driest continent. The only continent with less rain is Antarctica. We can't afford ice.

Oh, don't be silly.  I am always hearing about the Australian Alps.

There go calling me a cynic again, Ron...Brilliant fantasy films...I think the 5,000 FINGERS OF DR.T is a brilliant fantasy film and says more with its simplicity about childhood fears and childhood wonder than ET with all its bells and whistles and special effects.  I think Korda's THIEF OF BAGHDAD is a brilliant fantasy film.  I think Cocteau's BEAUTY & THE BEAST is a brilliant fantasy film.  I think IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE is a brilliant fantasy film.

I think CITIZEN KANE is a damned fine film!  I think ET is just an okay film.

Ahhh....this is probably going to cost me karma points.  I've thrown bricks at the sacred cow!
