Have we already discussed the idea that SINGING BEE looks like essentially the same show as DON'T FORGET THE LYRICS?

I'm not sure if anybody here mentioned it. But i did read a story about it last week.  Apparently one network rushed their show to premiere right before the other. Although the other network says they had been planning the show for a while.

I guess it will depend on the rules of the show. Because even if the shows sound the same. I think the rules could make one more interesting than the other.

Or which host you prefer.

Umm...and I'm guessing, here...perhaps...chicken?  ;)

That would have been my guess, too, DR Singdaw.

Chicken. For a dollar a piece.

But you can also get a few other things for a dollar. Collared greens, potatoes, fish soup...

Then fried catfisth for $2.

The whole restaurant is just a window in the back of a nice restaurant.

Piece of Chicken is a piece of Heaven. Truly delish. And the mac and cheese is faboo. Too bad I can't indulge there too often. Oh, well...nothing tastes as good as thin feels...or so they say.

Lunch arrived, was quickly devoured, and I'm still hungry. Well, hungry for something sweet. Perhaps I should make a run to the Brooklyn Diner for a scoop of John R...??

Ah...this does sound familiar.  I think DR JoseSPiano did tip us off to this place within the past week or two...

Sheesh!  In our accumulated mail, which Richard picked up at the PO this morning, we have a fundraising letter from Summer Youth Theatre, whose production this year is Cinderella.  The letter says,

"It debuted in 1957 for a special one-time performance on PBS to a record audience of 107 million viewers."

A few clicks on the PBS website reveal that PBS was not founded until 1969.

Wasn't the original broadcast on one of the major networks, which were pretty much all we had back in 1957?

CBS!

Thanks for the condolences, DR Laura.  In lieu of flowers, everyone can just hum a chorus of "The Woman's Dead" from CURTAINS.  We can wait for DR FJL to write the lyric.

DR Cason, I am not at all frightened by your photographs, I am, shall we say, reticent - yes, reticent - about how the emotional effect those pictures had on me.  ;)

I would suppose that DR JRand's earlier question about who cleans the costumes would be somewhat moot at the theatre DR Cason is playing.
