UP IN ARMS

Well, you've read the notes, the notes had you up in arms, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're up in udders.

I took along nap and do not feel like sleeping, although it is nice and warm and cozy in my little room.

I think my avie will soon be replaced by something that isn't annoyingly pixilated.

Ask BK:

Will you be doing a casting session in LA for people who might happen to be out there at the moment but might be willing to relocate temporarily to NY for the show?

DR Laura, yes, that was me that posted about the disappearance of my friend's mom. He is trying to remain hopeful, but the longer she is gone, the less likely the news will be good.

Yes, anyone who wants to read, can come see me here - they just have to be willing to get to NY on their own dime.  In fact, I had a call today from someone who wants to audition - a person from the cast of the film I like to call The First Nudie Musical.

Sorry to hear about Doug Marlette. He was much loved here in Atlanta, and the first political cartoonist I read regularly. I didn't know he was writing books, too.

I'm sure he would be dismayed by the current state of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, which is cutting loose many of its veteran writers, including movie critic Eleanor Ringel, after almost 30 years of columns. Now they've decided to go with sydicated columns because "people don't know the difference".

My favorite political cartoonist is Jim Morin, of the Miami Hearld, also a Pulitzer winner.

That was weird - I posted the above and the whole of the bottom of the page turned to gobbledegook.

Yeah, I don't get it, frankly.  He's certainly posting on the film music board - did someone offend him in some way?  I just never understand this stuff, but then I shouldn't even try.

Adrianna, I like that version of ALICE---it's a great cast, especially Spike Milligan as the Mock Turtle and Dudley Moore as the Doormouse (before he became a household word.)

I saw this at one of Atlanta's last movie palaces, wich was soon to be destroyed. Alice herself, Fiona Fullerton, made an appearance.

I bought this years later on VHS, and like SONG OF NORWAY, it didn't seem quite as good as my memories of it on the big screen.

Adrianna, as you can tell by my quote, I am a Lewis Carroll fan, too. Do you have the book, "The Annotated Alice"? Essential, IMHO.

DR Jose, you may be thinking of Jan Svankmayer's ALICE. Was the White Rabbitt a stuffed rabbit who kept spilling sawdust and scooping it back up and putting it back? That's one of my favorite versions.

I have the Richard Burton version on VHS (this is a version of the Eva Gallienne that I had worked on back in the '70's) but I haven't watched it yet.
