And the Banana Splits theme has a bad music edit that bugged me even when I was a kid!

I went to see Ian McLagen (keyboard player for the Small Faces/Faces) tonight at a local club. There were two opening acts; one was a Yardbirds cover band, quite good.

A friend of mine from high school sat in with the band. He's a great guitarist, formerly with the Georgia Satellites, but his humble origins included practicing in my mom's basement with my high school boyfriend's band.

Boy, my mom was a good sport.

It was nice to catch up with him, even though a lot of the talk consisted of remembering another friend of ours that I mentioned a few weeks ago, who passed on unexpectedly, and other rock and roll stories that would probably only be of interest to Tomovoz and Rodz.

George, I woke up to a very warm bed room....I decided it just wouldn't do and although it's cool outside, the open windows weren't doing squat, so I cranked the air conditioner and it's feeling much better. Maybe I can get some sleep

I am really thinking about getting a portable air conditioner...or seeing if I can be allowed to make my skylight in my loft bedroom an openable skylight.  All of the condos in this complex have the exact same kind of skylights, except some are square and some are half-sized rectangles.  When I was looking at places to buy, one of the other units in this complex had a square skylight (like mine) that could crank open!  I hope that that's a possibility because otherwise, there really isn't any easy way to get rid of the hot air up there. :P

Today, my sister, my niece and I took our aunt Sister Cecelia and cousin John and his wife Angel around to the Olympia Farmer's Market, the state capitol building, up to Tumwater Hill Park and Tumwater Falls Park.  It was a lot of fun (except that I got a sunburn) and we got to know my cousin a bit.  I only took a few pictures with my cell phone camera.  I specifically set out my digital camera to take with me, but I forgot it...darn it. :P But one that I thought to take was this.  It's not a casino carpet, but it's the carpet in the viewer's gallery for the Washington State Senate. ;) The colors didn't turn out at all, but here it is.  I hope DR Sandra likes it!

I'm back, and I'm zonked, and I am telling you I am not going - well, I am going to sit on my couch like so much fish for at least thirty minutes, so the notes won't be up until around 12:30 because I've got to relax and clear my brain tissues.  So, be patient and they'll be up.

Last night, it was so hot in my place...  How hot was it??  Well, it was so hot that I decided to sleep downstairs in my living room on my couch.  The problem was that, as cool and comfortable the temperature is downstairs in my living room, the couch is too darn short for my height and THAT made sleeping downstairs quite uncomfortable. :( I did actually get some sleep, but I really think that I can handle the heat upstairs more than the smallness of the couch.  I don't have room to move things out of the way to sleep on the floor downstairs, so that's not really an option, either. :-\ Tonight, I'll sleep in my bed, on top of the covers and I think I'll be fine.

Has "On the Lot" been on hiatus? I wasn't watching it, but noticed that there have been no comments about it here lately.

I had wanted to watch this, but with rehearsals and vacationing aunts, I never was able to see even one episode. :-\

And speaking of flutes...
all I can hear is the flute solo, and it's ain't pretty at all.  It's actually almost painful to listen to.

The bathtubs are cute, though!  :)

I had time this afternoon to watch three programs. I began with MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST. It was a funny show this week as Kathy hosts the Gay Porn Awards, has a blind date with a poker champion (a total pig), and then entertains at both women's and men's prisons. The prison sequences which were the last half of the show were funny but also quite touching as we see many inmates who are learning skills like auto repair and culinary management that they'll be able to apply once they're released. Kathy seemed moved by the experience of meeting some of these criminals making an hoest effort to turn their lives around.

I really liked this episode.  It was very touching to see that these people wanted to make their lives better.
