Isn't there a Yellow Rose Deep in the Heart of Texas?

Nope, just some sage in bloom.

Good morning, all!  I've been on the phone since 7:20 this morning and I slept badly over my MySpace debacle yesterday.  So, any and all vibes for lease and morale are appreciated.

The 7:20 phone call was semi-good news about potential work and I neede to rally the team today.  Shortly, I have to run down to the padlocked Toyland and deal with a few things, make a few telephonic calls and learn what - if any - fresh hell results from yesterday's embarassment.  I can only say that I unwisely, out of sheer ignorance, contacted someone  that I should not have and there may be unpleasant fallout.  Mr Farrow, former DR here, very snidely and aggressively pointed out my failures in computer etiquette on the Cast Recording List, and I live in fear that something similar will happen after yesterday.  It isn't that I deserve the chastisement, I'm mortified that it occurred.

DR Elmore, I hope everything resolves itself today in your favor. I join the choir who says don't let your personal stuff go into storage. Someone might decide to stop paying the bills and presto, your stuff is out on the street. This has happened several times with films I've worked on...valuable stuff went into a dumpster. (Had I known, I could have made a fortune on EBay!)

So here is the list so far:

Theme Songs that were not heard in the movie. They had lyrics added after the fact USING ORIGINAL MUSIC HEARD IN THE FILM and then were recorded.

Where Do I Begin? (Love Story)
Speak Softly Love (The Godfather)
A Time For Us (Romeo & Julliet)
Somewhere In Time (Somewhere In Time)
Laura (Laura)
The Music of Goodbye (Out of Africa)
Somewhere My Love (Doctor Zhivago)
The Summer Knows (The Summer of '42)
Aournd the World (Around the World in Eighty Days)
My Own True Love (Tara's Theme) (Gone With the Wind)
Race To The End (Chariots of Fire)
Picnic (Picnic)
Zorba's Theme (Zorba The Greek)
The Unforgive (The Unforgiven)

Does Anyone know if this was heard in the film? There is a credit on IMD, but they are not always correct.

The Exodus Song (This Land Is Mine) (Exodus)

This brings up an ethical discussion my DH and I had yesterday. He had a dream that a kid backed into his car where he was working and damaged the door. The kid came back into the studio to tell DH who had happened. Since the kid could have just taken off, like many would, but made the decision not to, DH felt like he should be rewarded for doing the right thing.

He said that he would let the kid's parent know what happened, but offer to split the cost of repair, since DH would have had to shoulder the whole cost if the kid had not been honest.

I thought that it would teach the kid more responsibility if he had to pay the whole amount, and I wouldn't tell the parents.

Thinking about this later, I started to believe my DH had the better solution. But what was most interesting to me about it is that real parents deal with these kind of decisions every single day. Hats off to all parents/grandparents/uncles/aunts, etc. who take the time to help raise our kids right!

~~~Travel vibes to Jason~~~
I've spent a bit of time in Louisville (or Louseyville, as we affectionately called it). The explosion in NY yersterday reminded me of when, 25 years ago, the Ralston Purina plant caused an explosion of sewage that ripped thru the downtown and the college campus. Manhole covers were blown off and found blacks away. There was a sewagey smell there for months. Surprisingly, no one was killed.
Them was some stinky times, I tell you!
I'm kind of torn with the two options you've laid out.  But I do think your DH's solution is reasonable.
TOD-D.I.D.:
Because "Best Of..." compilations usually don't include some of my favorite songs by an artist, I would take my own compilations of my favorites. Is that cheating?
Paolo Conte
Van Dyke Parks
Squeeze
Joe Jackson
Francis Cabrel
Randy Newman
Harry Nilsson
Guy Haines
The Beatles
Bryn Terfel (my new favorite!)
I would include orchestral music, but if I was on a desert island, I think I would be able to stay saner and mentally sharper by remembering lyrics (and singing along, where no one else could hear me!)
Spanking cats doesn't work. It just makes them mad and they don't learn anything. If you feel you must discipline a cat, get a spray bottle, like you use for plants and spray water when they are doing the deed.  This makes an unpleasant association and they won't do it again. Apparently this is true, I've never had the heart to do it. I just yell "NO" and they stop.
Congratulations to Kyra Sedgwick for her Emmy nomination for THE CLOSER.
Thanks for mentioning that, Matt! I wish I could have watched the announcement but I was driving to work.
The episode she was recognized for was SLIPPIN', about the teenagers in the SUV who were shot as they drove through gang turf.
TNT got 11 nominations, all together. Yay!
Best Drama Series: BOSTON LEGAL, HEROES, HOUSE, THE SOPRANOS, GREY'S ANATOMY.
No LOST, no DEADWOOD, no DEXTER, no THE SHIELD, no BROTHERS & SISTERS, no '24' (which did have a below average season), no CSI, no FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS (which others love but I don't watch).
