Must head off for work.  *sigh*

The freezer was defrosted on Saturday and on Sunday we went grocery shopping. We now have food to eat. Last night for dinner we had pork chops marinated in a honey dijon sauce, wild rice and sauteed yellow squash and zucchini. Very tasty.

PS, Michael Shayne, unless you're a member of NYMF, you can't buy tickets until September 1st. All the ticket buyers last week joined NYMF so they could get the August 1st ticket access dates

Enjoy your Monday.  My Monday lowlight was a blood test. (I hate them). I have another one tomorrow.

I blame Dr Phibes.

God morning, all!  Last night's nightmares included a sequence with me either back at the Drama Book Shop or Barnes & Noble while I juggled several problems, one of them being an order for 300 dialect tapes!  I also dreamed that I was back at my  grandmother's house, 711 Tenth Avenue, as it was when I was around 3 or 4. The house was quite haunted so my dreams about the house are usually terrifying.  The dream was peculiar: the house was all locked up and dark, but when I went to the back door and opened it, my mother's entire family, many long dead, was sitting in the kitchen.

So, I'm up and I have a trek to Toyland Two, then auditions, followed by a visit with DR FJL, DR Julie, and Skip.

A Happy Birthday To DR TD!

The phone rang at eight.  I picked up the one in the bedroom - nada.  I picked up two others - nada.  Then I realized it was the "house" phone, the one that lets people in the front door, but by the time I got to it it had stopped.  I went back to bed, but then the doorbell rang and it was some guy asking if I wanted an exterminator this morning.  I bit my tongue and merely said no.

Even with the windows open it was pretty hot all night, but I managed to get an okay night's sleep, but certainly not UNDER the covers.

As for the Topic of the Day...

Well, I've basically never met a potato I didn't like... ;)  However, to be specific...

The Potato Gratin in Garlic Cream at the Carlyle (in Arlington, VA).
Creamed Spinach at Smith & Wollensky's
Arroz Gandules at most any Mexican/Puerto Rican/South American restaurant
Tostones - Love those fried green plantains
Mashed Cauliflower-Carrot (Puree)

And that's the list for now

And now I must get ready to head in for my auditions today.  I have a short session for a A Little Night Music for South Coast Repertory at 10:00, and then The Brain at Noon.

*BK - I don't think we're finishing until around 5:15-5:30 today - if you're trying to set up a meeting with your choreographer.  At least that's what I was told.

He'll be at the auditions, so whatever time we finish we'll just toddle off for a little meeting pre FJL's.  Speaking of FJL, I "think" I remember where he lives but perhaps he could leave a leetle message on my leetle cell phone.

We found two interesting-sounding sublet possibilities - we've written both people.  We shall see.

Hmmm.  Of course, I was talking about the lorikeet, and not Mr. Dale, although I'm sure Mr. Dale would look great in any garden, as well.  Happy Birthday, Mr. Dale.

First spit-take of the morning!  (Keep this up and we can do our own version of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE - I'll get out my fancy dress, which could easily be top hat, white tie and tails).

STRESSLESS VIBES TO DR DAKOTA CELT!

My plans for the day include picking up a sumptuous, decadent cake from the best bakery in town, picking up my Elvis boxed set (plus the individual releases of THIS IS ELVIS, VIVA LAS VEGAS, JAILHOUSE ROCK etc); Dixie Bell and I have already had a wet morning walk.  Later in the week I shall dine at a fine Indian restaurant  - Jane, if you're listening, it's close to the campuses.

I feel all sticky and sweaty - I have the useless air conditioner unit on, and it's actually helping a little bit, albeit with the windows also open.
