Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I guess I slept through the rain.  And, actually, I think I slept through my alarm too.  ???  But, I'm up.

I guess I shall now be on my way to see our theater, and then I'll be quickly heading to the dance call back, and then the rest of our auditions which, for reasons unknown to me, are only going to take two hours.  I really don't understand why I'm not seeing tons more people, but then again I don't understand many things.

WHOA!!

I guess it did storm out there for a while.  So much so that a bunch of the subway lines got messed up.  Some are not running.

www.mta.info

DR elmore et al - Check the service advisories before heading out.  They're advising everyone to take the bus.  Apparently, there's no 1 Train service right now.  And a bunch of the other lines are either detoured or stopped now too due to flooding.

I'm not sure the best way to get downtown for the dance call... I just saw on the news that NYC officials are urging commuters to avoid the subways for the time being- whatever that means.

I guess my plan of taking the 1 is out. A friend called me to let me know that it took an hour and half to get from here to 59th on the A...

I'm not sure either. And I'm guessing a LOT of people will be late this morning.

Well, I guess I should get ready to head downtown... Especially since I have no idea just how or how long it's going to take to get there.

Laters...

Our office is usually full by now but many people are calling in late or taking the day off. Many, many trains are not running. Twill be a quiet day at 79 Fifth Avenue, methinks.

Smart and perspicacious people, Ben!  Mention Such Good Friends, The Last Starfighter and The Brain from Planet X, now booking at www.NYMF.org and you, too, can have a jolly midsummer holiday.

Good morning!

High of 101 is forecast for today. It's truly a furnace outside even at this relatively early hour. Ugh! I hate summer.

Yes, the three Criterion DVDs of Hitchcock's classics REBECCA, SPELLBOUND, and NOTORIOUS are all out of print now and the rights have reverted to MGM (I think). Allegedly, there will be new special editions of those three films coming in the next year.

I should be able to get through the two special features on the second disc in the CRIA CUERVAS set which will leave tonight free to watch BROTHERS GRIMM on Blu-ray disc. That should be fun to see in high def.

ANother new episode of RESCUE ME tonight, too. Did Tommy drop the baby in the river (which he was about to do at the end of last week's episode)? We'll find out tonight.

I read last night that the next set of Fox Marquee Musicals - which includes WITH A SONG IN MY HEART, THE GIRL NEXT DOOR, and BLOODHOUNDS OF BROADWAY -  are going to be released on November 13th.

Looking forward to the Jane Froman biography for sure!
