I'm off to an engagement party for one of my clients. I thought I would be going with my DH but he's on a crew that has been shooting since 5:30AM. He also has a client party tonight and more shooting tomorrow. It makes my day of packing and moving stuff in 100 degree heat seem like a walk in the park (around the reservoir.)

Travel vibes to the gliders - I hope they make it back to the freedom of the Australian bush!

(I know they are loved and cared for - but they are NOT FREE)

Good Afternoon!  Good Evening!

Now that was a walk!

Once I left the apartment, I decided to walk up 145th to Broadway in order to catch the 1 Train.  Then since I had just missed the train - I saw people heading out of the station, and could hear the train pulling away - I decided to keep walking up 145th to the river where I ended up at Riverbank State Park.  What a cool place!

I can't believe I haven't explored this Park in the two years that I've lived here - just five blocks away!  There's a restaurant, a cultural center, a roller-skating/ice-skating rink, a football field, a running track, picnic grounds, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a gym with lots of treadmills and a weight room, an amphitheater, etc., etc., etc.  And since was all surprisingly clean and well kept.  -I guess that since it's run by the State and not the City.  ;)  In any case...

I've been looking for a running track nearby for a while, and I'm so happy I found this one today.  And I can also get some more practice time in on my Land-Rollers at their rink.  *And the restaurant had a pretty decent menu, and a full bar!

And the views of New Jersey and the George Washington Bridge from RSP are amazing!  -Next time I'll bring my camera.

Illegal trade in animals would not exist it they was not a demand for them. No matter how many steps removed - the practice is sustained by people wishing to own exotic pets.

I have very few "hobby horses". (I don't even like those in captivity).

(I do support Zoos in their efforts to educate people about endangered species  and to help the survival by ading to the gene pool programmes etc)

...And then I just kept walking down the path along the Hudson... Through Riverside Park... All the way down to 72nd Street... Then over to Central Park West... Then to Columbus Circle... A good 7.5 miles.  :)

And, again, a truly beautiful day here in NYC!  :)

Pool programmes?

Trouble! Trouble, right here in River City, my friend! ;)

And even then; some zoos should NOT be allowed to exist!

DR MBarnum - Strangely enough, I know the play, The Fifth Season, since I worked on a musical called The Fifth Season which had nothing in common with the play of the same name.

*DR FJL - The Fifth Season was written by Debbie Wicks LaPuma and Kathleen Cahill.  Do you know of them?

And if you like BR6, if you happen to come across anything by "The Real Group" from Sweden, I'd say pick it up.

I am enjoying a quiet evening at home. My roommate is out at a movie with a friend. Killbot is snoozing on the couch. Lucy, normally the spastic one is alternating between curling up with me and on the rug, and Summer is batting around a crumpled piece of paper. I am catching up on last night's tv, first Monk which I enjoyed a lot, and now Psych.

Am I the only one here to long for a "centerfold" of Cason in his Cabaret-MC outfit?

I am also awaiting a delivery from Home Depot. My roomate and I each bought area rugs for our rooms and some hardware to create canopies/fabric headboards. For only $21 they will deliver to your house same day- cheaper than if we had taken a cab.
