Good Evening!

Back from my matinee...

And it was Jason Tam's last performance as Paul.  He will be missed.

I'm sure you can find something fun to do this evening without necessarily hanging out with a diva or two.  For example, we have our very own divas right here in New York, New York.  FJL is a diva.  Elmore is a diva.  But save Joe Allen for when I arrive, baby.

I thought that Elmore was a divoone divo.   ???
I hope that when I meet FJL he's still a divo, too.

DR Singdaw - welcome back!  I love, love, love your mother's house at the Jersey shore.  Is that a for-sale sign in the yard?

Thanks, DR Ginny!  No, she rents the house for most of the season, but reserves some time in August for family.  We enjoy it more in the off-season [which I prefer, anyway - much quieter!].

Of course, if DR Cason is looking for something to do in NYC tonight, well...  The Reservoir doesn't officially close until 1:00AM.

Singdaw, Cason didn't go on in the role he was supposed to go on for.  He did a little bit that he and another actor do.

Thanks, bk!

Or he could come over here for dinner.  When I got home, I made a big pot of pasta - penne rigate - and then combined that with some spicy Italian chicken sausage, and broccoli raab.  A classic combination.  And very good too!  -And I have a lot left for a couple of meals this week.

And we also had to do a bit of cleaning up after today's matinee since they will be "tearing down" the pit tomorrow.  Last week's rain caused some minor flooding in some of the Broadway theatre - the Schoenfeld included.  And since the whole pit room is basically lined in black duvateen... And since it got wet... And then got musty and moldy... Well...  There will be a new pit come Tuesday afternoon.

DR Singdaw - ~~~~Healing Vibes to DD Zach~~~~

*I had my own possible scare with Lyme disease a few years ago.  You know it's a bad day at the doctor's office when they start pulling out the reference books in front of you.  :-\  Thankfully, it turned out that I was allergic to the antibiotics I was taking for my sinus infection.  In any case...

How long will it take for Zach to recuperate?  And does Lyme ever go fully away in dogs?

DR edisaurus - Yes, I've heard that story/urban legend.  However, when I first heard the story, the pet involved was a cat.

DR JoseSPiano, glad to hear that you didn't have a long-term Lyme problem.  I've heard some horror stories.

If Zach continues to progress at the current rate, he should be back to normal within a couple of days.  And I don't know about the long-term, but that's a very good question for me to ask the vet.

DR td, the current beachwear fad among the young and hunky, from my observation this past week, appears to be knee-length swim trunks.

Thanks, DR Cillaliz!  I have some sleuthing to do.

I'm not sure how Zach ever came in contact with a tick, as he is really never off lead [except this past week at the beach], and takes FrontLine monthly.  But I guess nothing is 100% foolproof.

They'll be here for three days.  And from the sides and music (hint) they sent me, it looks like all roles are open.

DR Singdaw....I found this in an online article about it
"Fortunately, over ninety percent of dogs treated within the first week of obvious signs of Lyme Disease will respond rapidly to treatment with a tetracycline antibiotic.  This medicine is administered for at least three weeks.  In my experience, five percent of dogs will have some type of relapse of signs such as cardiac or neurological difficulties even after treatment .  Some of these patients will experience chronic, lifelong joint pain from the damage caused by the bacteria and its direct and indirect stress to joint tissues.  The earlier the antibiotic is started in the course of the disease, the better the patient's chances of a complete recovery."

Sounds like you got Zach in and diagnosed very quickly. That's a good thing
