Speaking of details, I had some very sweet e-mails today from dear lurkers, plus the several nice posts about the rehearsal reportage, so I'll keep on with it.

DR Jane:  Actually, your tale is very much like what I was referring to.

Oh, I know the first part had to do with a past life association, I think, but there are other forces at work that push us toward something from time to time.

Your feeling that your grandparents were buried in that same cemetery and then your finding out that they were and that their graves had been close to those of Keith's should have had you in chills!!!

It was probably your grandparents saying, "Hey! We're HERE!"

Maybe they were calling me.  I'm sure my mother did the day I couldn't find my mother's grave.

I didn't have chills.  First I was thrilled at the discovery and then somewhat emotional to be there.  I only have one small memory of my grandfather & none of my grandmother.  My father never visited their graves, yet they have two large beautiful tombstones.  I also found out my grandmother died after my grandfather, which was a shock & is another story.

Ron I haven’t felt as if I had been someplace in the past or had the same sort of connection you are talking about.  The closest I came to that was when I went with Keith to visit his grandparent’s graves.  Suddenly I was positive my grandparents were in the same cemetery, & there is no way I could have known this.  I asked at the front desk & discovered I was correct.  Interesting, we were very close to their graves when I had my sudden inspiration.

Serendipity is a powerful thing as is a sixth sense....

Actually, DR Singdaw,  we do have some of that going on at the library where I work...

I have seen / heard students making out in study rooms and in the periodical area.

I was thinking about going out for some chow but I'm just too zonked - wouldn't get anywhere before 8:45 and wouldn't get back before 10:00 and I have to get to bed early.

We lost power this afternoon & if I don't return later tonight it is because we lost it again.  It is pouring right now.
DR Laura don't be jealous.  We needed it too.  Our fire danger is at extreme.

Thirty years in 2011, Ginny?  Were you a child bride?

 :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

DR TCB, you are too, too kind!  Actually, I was a very old (according to the college students who worked for me at the time) bride - age 30.

Here's hoping DR Laura has air conditioning - I've been in Phoenix in the summer and wouldn't want to be without it.

Along those lines, we've turned our AC off and opened the windows - s'posed to get down in the 50's tonight.

I found the Ted Andrews book on past lives at Borders this evening; also picked up The Puppini Sisters' cd, "Betcha Bottom Dollar" which in addition to the swing standards contains a brilliant version of Kate Bush's "Wuthering Heights."

Once when I visited Fort Sumter, I was unable to move for a five minute period or more, the only time in my life I can state that I was glued to the spot, as I felt that there were welcoming forces holding me there, embracing me and ultimately leading me to a closed off area of the fort which used to be used as a hospital area (it was under reconstruction at the time).

Just thought I'd share.

DR Jane - Dixie's *growth* is back in her face, but, any time the camera is ready, she turns away. . .Garbo, indeed!

A few Nay sayers on here but I really enjoy the CD.
I bought it after hearing "Wuthering Heights". It's the first time I have ever understood Kate's words! "Heart of Glass" is great too.

Somehow I visualise Dawn French doing Kate Bush impersonations each time I hear "Wuthering Heights".

I just came back from somewhere I had never been before, Philadelphia PA.  We stayed for three days and we saw  the King Tut  exhibit in the Franklin Science museum, as well as exploring the rest of the museum

We saw the Librty Bell,
toured Independence Hall, Franklin Court, Besty Ross's home, the US Mint as well as  "Riding the Duck' (an vehicle built for WWII , it looks like a boat with wheels.  First we toured  "The Historical Mile" and then we drove into the Delaware River and had a lovely afternoon cruise down the  river.

We also took a London Double decker bus tour of the city.

We ate at City Tavern,  the oldest Tavern in Philadelphia. It was  frequented by many members of the Continental Congress inclsuing  Mr. Adams, Mr Jefferson and Dr. Franklin  and even Paul Revere stopped int here when he was in town.

We had a great time in our country's (former) capital!!
