I'd better really enjoy these mornings and days off, because once I return to LA I will be working fourteen hours a day or more on the fundraiser.

Bruce floor cleaner!  I need a bottle immediately.

The directions state:

"Do not allow puddles of Bruce to remain on floor's surface".

Duly noted!

There's also "Bruce Clean and Strip".

Since I will have to shower before I go out, I guess I'm following directions, although perhaps in the wrong order.

Is that anything like Fountains of Wayne?

Contemporary music reference.  Does not compute.    :)

Yesterday, JRand asked me:

Quote
Do you wear a hat or visor at work?

It depends on what I'm doing.  Cashiers are told asked not to wear caps or hats while at the registers.  This rule gets violated during holidays, of course, and I have a few crazy hats that I've acquired for just those occasions.

Elsewhere in the store, caps can be worn, and are sometimes encouraged, especially in the deli where they help with hair management.  I've often worn a Super G cap when wrangling carts, simply to keep the sun out of my eyes.

(I also have a short apron that I wear on occasion.  I find the pockets handy for holding the key-card when I'm on self-scan duty, and for holding trash when I'm working the yard.  It is plain and black, and looks nothing like a hostess' cocktail apron, which are silly and not at all practical.)

Time to go run errands. I'm sure there will be a few people trying to pick up Bruce in the "hard surfaces" area of Home Depot.

Puddles Of Bruce - sounds like Mr. Sondheim's Multitudes of Amys.

Puddles of Bruce
Saturate my floor
Bruce is good for cleaning
But puddles are demeaning
And frankly they're a bore

Just one squirt of Bruce
Gets the grime away
But puddles end up staining
Then you'll be complaining
And Bruce won't make your day

It looks like NBC will be repeating both HEROES and CHUCK on saturday night.

I think i will try to remember to check out the latter.  For some reason i thought the show was a 1/2 hour comedy. It was only yesterday that i saw the bit on the VIEW with Sheri and her former LESS THAN PERFECT co star (the star of CHUCK). The clip they showed looked interesting.

I am running really behind on tv this week. But i now have the canadian version of tivo (illico).  It can record 2 shows at once plus you can watch something you recorded at the same time. Plus i also have my VCR.

The only thing about the illico is that it is only convenient for yourself. If anybody else wanted to watch something it would not be convenient. Plus the scheduled recording area is bizarre. IT can say something is scheduled to record but if it's not written in the program guide the same way you could be in for trouble. Interesting to get used to.

I just returned from an unexpected but quite wonderful lunch with MusicGuy and Jose at a very nice place (both Jose and I have eaten there before) called East of Eighth in Chelsea. I needed to see MG and conduct a bit of business so I decided to stay for lunch as well. I had an egg white frittata with fresh spinach, cherry tomatoes and sliced chicked, MG had the Cobb Salad and Jose had a salad but the name escapes me now. Much talk was talked and a good time was had by all. Jose is now in rehearsal at Chelsea Studios, MG is wander the Gay Mile (Eighth Avenue between 14th Street and 23rd Street) and I'm back at the office. I'm sorry we won't be able to joint the gang for dinner tonight. I will miss meeting Jeanne but I will see David (Singdaw) on Sunday at the large gathering.

That's the news from the Rialto. And now, back to work.

Oh.  Never mind.  That was DHL.

PUSHING DAISIES doesn't premiere until next week (due to DANCING WITH THE STARS), but I do plan to catch PRIVATE PRACTICE (which has gotten lousy reviews) and DIRTY SEXY MONEY tonight with their premieres.

And I guess I'll give the Kelsey Grammer/Patricia Heaton sitcom BACK TO YOU one more chance.

I am also planning to check out PUSHING DAISIES. And i will also record PRIVATE PRACTICE and DIRTY SEXY MONEY. I think i will also check out BIONIC WOMAN.  It's really hard to know which shows i might like since i haven't heard that much about any of them.

Here's a fine thing:

DHL tracking indicates my Mickey-Judy box was out for delivery, that delivery had been attempted at 9:43 a.m.,  and that "recipient was unavailable -- premises closed; will attempt delivery tomorrow."  I double-checked order and confirmed it was addressed to my office (open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.).

I sent an e-mail and let them know in no uncertain terms that delivery tomorrow is NOT an option...that this premises is NOT CLOSED and the delivery person must try to get it right.

Der Brucer is insisting that we get going - we both need haircuts if we're to look natty (and not gnatty) on Sunday.

I just put down the pencil: I scored 101 measures of music and I've got about 90 to go.  I'll stop by Staples and copy it, then run down to the copyists and drop off the original 26 or so pages, run to the performance, see everyone and head back home to finish this baby.

I just got back from a brown bag lunch CLE at my old office. First time I've been there since I left.   It was actually good. My replacement is a great guy, I wish I could have worked with him instead of Bob, but hey.   I'm so much happier where I am that it's ridiculous.

I'm going to get my bio and other stuff ready for my website and will meet with the designer tomorrow AM.  Hopefully, we'll have it up after that.  Poor guy, my web designer that is, he keeps telling me what I need to get to him and it just hasn't been a priority....tomorrow....I swear!

Wow!  I admire your work ethic.   I wish we were going to be around Monday night so I could hear it.   Do you think they may record it?  It would be great if The Plaza put it on their website or something....just thinking....
