Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was my favorite attraction at Disneyland growing up.

I would much rather do that than what bk endured yesterday.  Glad it all worked out.

DR TCB.....upload your file at this site.  Add your email address, and it will be emailed back to you as a PDF file which you should be able to email.

https://www.pdfonline.com/convert_pdf.asp

Thank you, Jrand, I will try that when I get home - which may be sooner rather than later.

NO! Without a doubt NO.  Illegal trade.
Nor does Australia allow the export of Sugar gliders!

NOTE CA is considering lifting the ban on kangaroo leathar items. Hey, the Pope has kangaroo leather shoes.

Good morning, everyone!

I had to get up early because the Salvation Army is supposed to pick up a boat-load of stuff. They won't tell you ahead of time when they'll be here; you have to call at 8 am on the day of the pick-up. So I'm up, dressed, and ready.

I'm roughly 6'2".  I think DR S. Woody White may have an inch on me!  :)

TOD:

which of my "favorite" travel experiences would you like to hear?

On my first flight overseas we had stopped in Montreal (from LA) to refuel. One of the engines caught fire just as we were about to take off. I found that rather unsettling, especially because I'd only flown once or twice before--and never over water.

Then there was the business trip to Hawaii to teach a class. I was returning the rental car and about to head home when the rental agency refused to accept the voucher for payment supplied by my company's accounting department. I called the mainland; said accounting department kept insisting that the voucher was good, said rental agency kept insisting it was not. I was caught in the middle and afraid I wouldn't be able to get home. I now have very strong feelings that any organization sending people out on travel should see to that individual's welfare FIRST and deal with the details second. They should also provide a company credit card for emergencies, which they did not. (This was a well-known company that both Der B and I used to work for.)

Then there was the business trip to Europe, which my boss's boss was also on. We arrived at Heathrow. His luggage came right away; mine did not. We waited and waited. He was getting impatient. I finally spotted it, grabbed it and we were off--only to find, once at my hotel, that, although the bag was identical to mine, even down to the scratches, it was not mine. It was also not locked and a piece of paper inside held the name of the owner. Not only did I feel awful about grabbing someone else's luggage, I had no clean clothes and had dinner plans with said mucky-muck. I phoned the airline--TWA, I think--and they reunited both bags with their respective owners the next morning. I went to dinner with only a shower and no clean clothes. But with patience it was resolved.

You look a lot taller than 6'2". And I'd say there's nothing rough about you.

(I'll leave it there.)

Nice article in the Times, DR elmore3003.  Too bad they didn't mention more about the musical part of the celebration.  So the orchestra was outside?  If so, the sound probably wasn't ideal.

I was actually surprised at how well we could hear the orchestra at rehearsal.  Of course, we were sitting right in front of the speakers and weren't surrounded by thousands of (probably drunk) celebrities.

EMMY BUZZ

LATIMESder Brucer

I knew Zachary Levi was the real deal during those four years on LESS THAN PERFECT. Yep, he played a snotty schemer, but there was always a hint of humanity behind his plotting, and he could easily register a rather touching disappointment when his plans went awry as they always did. I found him a likeable louse on the show, and on CHUCK, I just find him likeable.

Keeping my fingers crossed for continued success of the show.

Good morning!

Another cool one, but I was distressed to read this morning that the morning temps for the rest of the week are going to be at least ten degrees warmer (low 60s instead of low 50s)! Boo!

Highs will continue to be in the high 70s/low 80s.

I do have some TV to catch up with from the previous few nights: COLD CASE from Sunday and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and CSI: MIAMI from last night.

I must also start the next TV box set: CSI: NY.

I just got an email from DR edisaurus. She and Greg are back and on the run today.

DR singdaw, the miking of the string section totally beat up the brass: you could hardly hear the trumpet and trombone solos.  Still, I doubt anyone listened because the fireworks were the important thing.

I also have three movies from paycable channels I haven't gotten to yet: THE BLACK DALHIA, RUNNING WITH SCISSORS, and STRANGER TTHAN FICTION. I don't know when I'll get to them.
