I did have time to watch episode 9 of BERLIN this morning. A very talky episode. We're in 1928 now, and the discontent of the German people with the depression there and feelings of unworthiness are allowing various political regimes to begin to gain a foothold. I hope episode 10 will get back to more story and less politicizing.

Hmmm....free for all day.....what is everyone's favorite Free For All in a movie?

Mine include:

The Challange Dance-Barn Raising from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

AND

The courtroom scene in What's Up Doc?

To begin with.

"You made me break my life savers!"

Thanks for the correction, DR MBarnum.  I don't know from Bollywood, obviously.  Or even Tollywood.

You are quite welcome, I am sure. I'm always happy to brainwash convert educate on the merits of Bollywood.

I will be with BERLIN all day today in an effort to get closer to its conclusion. There's en entire disc of supplements once I've finished the 14 episodes.

But, of course, I will take time out for DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, BROTHERS & SISTERS, and will record DEXTER. Looks like CBS' line-up will be pushed back due to NFL football, so I'll miss COLD CASE tonight. I'm not going to try to program the DVR to catch shows that get moved out of their time periods by football overruns this season. I'll just have to miss those episodes.

I've finally finished (for the moment) my Jessica's Biscuit wishlish.

It only runs something like two hundred seventy-eight items.  A trifle, really, particularly since, in the latter stages of compiling the list, I automatically ruled out books that ran more than ten dollars or were less than a fifty percent discount.  (Eliminating those volumes that are less than fifty percent off, plus the first delivery, which count as wishes already granted, there are only one hundred and eighty three books on the list, so I'm hardly being extravagant at all!)

Exactly when der Brucer will OK the next batch of books is another matter.

The only television I'm planning on watching tonight is Next Iron Chef.

For NIC contestant John Besh fans, the New York Times had a nice profile on him a few days ago, including the following comment:

Quote
“When he went through his foam phase it was a little nauseating,” said Poppy Tooker, a local cooking teacher. “It was like crawfish jelly with spit on top.”

I think you can go to the bank on that prediction. What a shame that on its season premiere, the show doesn't actually get to start on time.

I guess I'll head back down and start back up with Mr. Fastbinder's epic. Then, I'll think about fixing some lunch.

I forgot to mention the best thing whilst having Ye Olde Haircut - a guy came in selling various chocolate things.  I gather that he comes in every Saturday.  So, Teddy got a little case of something and I asked him what it was.  He opened the box and said, "Just take one and put it in your mouth whole and then eat it with eyes closed.  I did so - and it was a gloriously glorious taste treat.  What it was was a chocolate-covered grape with a raspberry on top, and a half a cashew nut stuck in some fantastic chocolate coating.  The burst of flavors was like a beautiful sunrise, and I immediately bought a box.

I may have to now go there every Saturday to get a little something from this guy.

Ah, the number of times I have said that!

I guess some new electronics know to change the time today!

But i gotten woken up at the new 6:45am. Little megan called. She usually calls at 7:15am. But i guess she (or rather her mother) figured that since it would have been 7:45am that it was okay to call early (since they woke up at the new 5:45am).  :)

 ;D
and why should her mother suffer an hour of listening to Little Megan whine she wants to call her aunt Jennifer ;D

i knew who she was, before K. COP & enjoy her as an actress.  i like knowing she is the nice person she seems to be.  Reed, great family name to give her son.
