The problem is finding the two to theree hours it's going to take to unhook the old equipment and hook up the new equipment. It looks like Sunday morning may be the first opportunity to do this.

But doing "hook-ups" on Sunday is so unseemly ;D

And why all this "new" talk about that Gold Ice Cream Sundae at Serendipity 3?  It's been on their menu for a while, however, it does seem to get some new press every now and then.  ???

As for the Friday Media Check...

Lots of stuff on deck for the CD and DVD players.  I don't even think I listened to my iPod this week, just the radio (WQXR).

Back in March you posted about their The Golden Opulence Sundae, but I think this is a different offering.

So a truly decadent NYC outing would be to see Young Frankenstein from Premium Seats and then getting this gold ice cream thingy for dessert?

I had hopes that maybe Paramount would release CHINATOWN in HD-DVD being that it's such a classic. However, they seem only interested in releasing the newest hits in HD-DVD.

I think CHINATOWN is one of the masterpieces of the 1970s and would love to own the best-possible copy of the film for viewing at home. However, I'm holding off buying the new edition for now to see if it gets any kind of love from Paramount in the high def realm.

We have a few New Yorkers in town this weekend.  The team of Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens along with "Broadway's Golden Couple" (or something like that as they were introduced) Marin Maizie and Jason Danielly, in a world premiere of a new show Ahrens and Flaherty: Words and Music

The show, which was more like a revue or concert, was very well put together.  Everyone sang, including Lynn singing "Times Like This" from Lucky Stiff.  Some other highlights included Stephen playing the theme from "Ragtime" as a piano solo, MAN he can play.  It was amazing.  Also, while I'm not a Marin Maizie fan, she did bring me to tears with "Back To Before", maybe it was hearing it in person.  Songs from The Glorious Ones were performed as well as bits from each of their shows. Although, anything from Dessa Rose seemed to have been missing.  Lynn and Stephen gave some interesting tidbits about the creation of their shows in between the songs.  It was a great night.

Today, A&F will be speaking to one of our local high school kids and I'm going to attend that gathering and hope to be able to chat with the team.

I believe that was Frances Farmer's second or third choice for her autobiography's title.  ;)

The dogs are still on Daylight time and are jumping on the bed at 5:30 every morning.  It took me this long to figure out why they're doing that.  Oy.

I have also about finalized my first foray to DDD.  Getting some stuff that's been out for a few weeks that I haven't picked up yet, most of which I've read about here, thank you very much, like the Fox Horror set, some new Criterions (or at least recent), and the boxed set that has UTDS and other others in it.

Speaking of Ms. Farmer (and when am I not, LOL?) things are proceeding apace with King-TV, though I don't think they've made an ultimate decision yet.  I had a nice, long chat with the producer who's interested in IV-ing me yesterday and he said if it goes through (which he expects it will), they will journey down here sometime in December.  Just what I need--something else to do in December.   :o

I decided to get a flu shot after all (since I found out i can get one for free). So i have an appointment on the 21st.  My sister was having problems finding a place for my niece. apparently they only give them for kids for free if they are under 24 months (she is 25 months).  And the place she did them last year will not take you if you are not on the list.

Her regular doctor works from her house, so she doesn't do them. So now she has to go to the local tiny tot office (where she sometimes goes when her doctor is not available). But she has to be $20!

I am my own Frenzy.

MattH (or any other in the know DR)--did you watch Criminal Intent last night?  I was so caught up in seeing Steve Guttenberg (my, how he's changed), I didn't notice who was playing his wife, and she looked awfully familiar.  Do you know who it was?

TV Guide:
- A two-hour "The Closer" special, comprised of the final two installments from its third season, has been booked for Monday, December 3 at 8:00/7:00c.

They will probably have a season 3 marathon leading up to it, too!

Yes, Woody & Der B, that was one of my Xmas promos you saw. Glad you recognize my "style"!  :)

TNT has not yet aired the Season 3 two-part finale titled "Next of Kin". The two-parter aired in Sept was episodes 12 and 13 of the 15 episode season.

So think I.

And thou thinkest correctly!
