I've cleared a bunch of movies off my DVR cache in preparation for the "Andy Hardy" and "Maisie" onslaught in the week(s) to come.  Am pretty sure they'll be dominating the TCM channel during Thanksgiving weekend.

Since I didn't have anything thawed, I dragged der B to the store to find something for dindin.  What does he decide he wants more than anything else?  Leg of lamb!

Which is now out of the oven, and I hope I roasted it correctly.  The sides of roasted carrots, beets, and taters are finishing up as I write this.

And I'd better figure out what to do with the mint, so I can sauce that lamb.

DR Sandra is babysitting Mae-Ling and Wae-Ling while Mr. Goldstein is on a marathon.

DR Kerry just called a few minutes ago. They heard me say "Kerry," so now they are making him a necklace out of beads. I'm sure he will wear it. Really.

Also, my schedule will be interesting over the next week.

I'm in on Sunday, off on Wednesday.

Tuesday, I work an eight hour shift until closing.

Wednesday, I'm back in at eight in the morning, for another eight hour shift.  That's two long shifts with a minimal turnaround (although it could be worse, starting at six AM).

Then, on Thursday, I'm in from one to six-thirty.  (This saves us from going to Magic Mommie's for Thanksgiving dinner.)

Off on Friday, back in on Saturday.

This leaves me with cooking Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday after work.  So, while we were at the store and I'm looking over the turkey breasts (no reason to cook an entire bird), der B spots... DUCK!

I'll be roasting us a duck for Thanksgiving.

 :o

Now I just have to figure out what to do alongside the duck.

Chestnuts, in some fashion.

Brussels sprouts sound right.

Something that needs mushroom gravy (I do a great mushroom gravy).

That should be enough.

What a lovely photo, DR TCB...can we have to circumstances surrounding it, please?

That photo is from April, 1964.  It was my first leading role in the regular adult theatre side of Tacoma Little Theatre.  The role was Nick in A THOUSAND CLOWNS

I have been looking for the one photo I have from my appearance in THE LITTLEST ANGEL.  I beleive I was five or six.  That is also the youngest picture of me in existance, which is why I continue to believe that I must have been adopted.

Don't know, not worried about it.  Magic Mommie's cooking is well worth missing.  As is Magic Mommie.

I'll have to spend Christmas with her, as it is.  (We're closed Christmas, the only day of the year we shut down.)

This is the woman who, last year, insisted on "regaling" the entire table of adults after Christmas dinner with a story about her best friend had best friend's "loser" boyfriend.  Only instead of simply saying "loser" she held her hand up to her forehead and did the "L" symbol, something she should have grown out of by the end of middle school.

When I whispered to der B about the girlfriend having "a lesbian boyfriend", MM refused to take the hint and instead changed her story's reference to the boyfriend verbally as "the Loooo-zer!"

This summer MM was thrilled to be the best matron at girlfriend and boyfriend's wedding.  It took every bit of self control to keep from asking said girlfriend (at a birthday party prior the big event), "So, you're marrying the Lesbian, then?"  It would have been fun explaining that comment.

MM's habit of tearing down her friends and badmouthing them at every opportunity makes the holidays a really horrid experience.  And I know that she tears into me whenever I'm not around.  So, no, I will not miss spending Thanksgiving with her, not one bit.

Some people are simply poisonous.

My teenage years are too hazy to remember even if there were cameras.
