I’m skimming though the past couple of days worth of posts—

I agree with DR Jane that one of the few things I do miss with Direct TV was Tivo and the “wish list”.  I did mention it to Bright House when I was having the phone problems.  The lady I spoke with said they love the feedback so they know how to make their service better.  Who knows, maybe the “wish list” will make a come back.

Happy belated Birthday Wishes to DP Skip!  I hope it was a very nice day for you!

So doomsday is going to be sometime next May, huh?  Well it will be my 50th birthday but I hardly think the world is going to end.  I thought life STARTED at 50!

Reminds me of a time when Mom and I were in the check out line at the grocery store and one of the rags head lines was “World Ends—THIS WEEKEND!” .  I remember remarking to Mom that if the world was going to end in a day or two, then why were we buying the weeks worth of groceries?

I say go in and get the kids from the kooks and then leave them in the cave for as long as they want to stay.

Oh, DR TomovOZ,  I did manage to show Thelma some of the pictures of your bird friends.  She can’t believe they are wild and just come to your house to visit.  They are so lovely.

***CONTINUED HEALING VIBES***
to DR Danise!

I know it can be frustrating, waiting for your body to heal, but you will be as good as new in no time!  :)

Thank you DR Singdaw.  I know you are right but it IS frustrating. :)

I hate to say it but I'm getting one of tired attacks.  I think I shall slip into the recliner and maybe take a little snooze.

DR Jane, I hope you are feeling and healing as well.

Laters all!

There is more than enough blame to go around to fill the coffers of both the union and the producers.

That's what it looks like to me. I'm just sorry that so many shows will be dark during Thanksgiving and especially sorry that the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids promotions during this week won't happen. That's a lot of money lost for a great cause no matter who is to blame.

Recovery vibes for DR DANISE.

Here's to the ladies who lunch.

I love all of the lyrics but especially "The dinosaurs surviving the crunch....."

A little uncouth, but my "flavorite" hot sandwich (away-from-home variety) for a long time was the McRib, which McDonald's brought back for a short while at some point IIRC. but seems to have discontinued again.

The cheesesteak subs from the Three Aces "restaurant" in Cambridge was a major favorite during law school, and I actually dreamed a few months ago about having one of those again. :)

If my caller ID shows a state that I know I don't know anyone there I do not answer. Sometimes they are relentless. I answer and if there is a liver person I tell them to put me on the do not call list which I opted for and people seem to ignore.

You'd go crazy in Iowa with all the political calls, which aren't covered by the Do Not Call list.  Many of the caller id's are cell phones from somewhere else so I don't answer those. Other's have the candidates names. I ignored them for a long time.  I started to answer them to tell them I'm not supporting their candidate in hopes I'll get crossed off their list.

Listening live to Lloyd Carr's press conference about his retirement as Michigan's head football coach.  What a class act!

DR singdaw - I, too, also own the Special Edition DVD of "My Fair Lady", but have yet to watch it - let alone unwrap it.  However, I do remember watching the movie once during high school, and catching bits and pieces of it here and there whenever it's been on TV, but I don't think I've watched it all the way through in years(!).

But you've never NOT seen it....because, for you,  that would be strange

;D

Seeing all these birthday greetings for someone called DR Jason makes me wonder what I've been missing.

I, of course, remember DR Jason as someone who posts sporadically to the forum...and who was a daily figure here up until a month-and-a-half ago, or so.  But he always seems to disappear as if our interest in him didn't matter to him.

Still...perhaps he's communicating daily with a group of you and still logging on to read.

In that spirit, I wish Jason a happy birthday and hope he'll find time to remember that many folks here do wish him well and continued happiness.

There "will be" two of us in the office this morning.  And one of us (me) in the office this afternoon.

Tomorrow, there will be three of us.

Wednesday, I don't care how many will be here (two, I believe), even though I'll work from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

We are finally getting a taste of "winter", if the meteorologists are accurate.  Foggy morning will give way to sunshine.  Later in the day, however, fog will return with rain and much colder temperatures.  Currently, it's F 51.6 degrees.  It could get into the upper 30s this evening.  That's "BRRRRRR_R_R_R_R" for the Bay Area.

Good morning!

It's warming up here and will be back in the mid 70s by Wednesday! Isn't this weather simply amazing. I was in a sweater last night (no coat) coming out of the theater, and I almost felt too warm.

Last night, my DVR picked up the HBO-HD telecast of INFAMOUS, the "other" Truman Capote/IN COLD BLOOD movie. I'm going to try to get to it today at some point. Interested in seeing it since I liked CAPOTE very much.

Today I have DEXTER recorded from last night which I may or may not get to. New episodes of my favorite Monday shows, too. A full day of viewing.

I think I must have been 10 when I had my first hot, open-faced sandwich - a hot turkey sandwich in some restaurant between here and New York. On that same trip I had my first open faced roast beef sandwich, too. For me, that was the best part of that NYC trip, those "new" sandwiches.

I didn't have my first Philly cheesesteak sandwich until about five years ago! I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
