So what are you trying?  South Beach, Blood type, etc?

I am trying the smaller meal diet. It is very easy. You eat smaller meals.

Which, of course, is just the opposite of the "Seafood Diet": See Food, Eat It.

I'm afraid that's been the diet I've been on all of my life.  ;D

Yes, Danise. I know many Canadians who are familiar with the book. For some reason it has been quite popular there--perhaps here, too, and I just haven't gotten US feedback.  Personally, I prefer a more individualized approach; IMO the approach overgeneralizes. But, you may find it helpful. Just remember that everyone's body chemistry is a bit different.

I bought the cookbook and a few other follow up books on Half.com so we will see what is involved when I get them.

I just know I need to do something.  I will begin to exersize on the treadmill when I'm up to it.

DR Danise, you and Cillaliz and I should support each other during our weight loss efforts.

May I join, too?  After tonight's dinner  ;) ?

As for Black Friday, oh, no, not me! One year I was on my way to our local Whole Foods Market to do some grocery shopping and had to pass by a shopping mall. Traffic was a mess, even for those of us bypassing the mall.

DS Betsy was on the SAG/AFTRA Board here for years and got to know the one-armed man from Twin Peaks rather well (he's from PDX).  I think somewhere, somehow we knew the Log Lady, too, but neither of us can recall right now.

BTW, I will probably be back later with an I Blame MattH story (as much as I'd like to blame Jose).

Guess what, I just went to the mail box and guess what was there?  The cookbook and the Blood Type O Food, Beverage and Supplement lists books I just told you about.

I also got a nice package from DR Jane.  Thank you so very much!

DR JMK,

Does DS Betsy still have any pull with either SAG or AFTRA...maybe she could secret me a couple of contact addresses for some former members who I have not been able to locate, but who I need to interview!

Good morning.  Or good afternoon.  Oh, what a lazy day the day after Thanksgiving is, at least around here.

We had a great family meal last night.
Turkey
stuffing
sweet potatoes
white baked potatoes
brocolli
cauliflower
cranberry and fruit confit
lasagna (a family tradition to have lasagna at Thanksgiving)
apple pie and vanilla ice cream
coffee
champagne and wine

Yum.

Then, this morning, my cousins whom I haven't seen in a long time came over to say hello and visit for a while.

Now, people are off to the beach.

And a lazy afternoon nap sounds really good!  I think just looking  on TV at all the black Friday shoppers lined up at 3am made me tired!  ;D

For Shuler Hensley fans.

Wow!  Thirty minutes from the Broadway theater to Montclair in Jersey.   Mr Hensley must get a police escort home every night.

I was a-m-a-z-e-d!

CostCo was calm.  Very few cars.  And they had opened EARLY today (unbeknownst to me).  I have no idea if it was crowded earlier, but I sailed in and got around to see other things I had not seen before.

I got my computer with a $100 off coupon!

I got a 4GB flash drive with a $20 off coupon.

I resisted many urges.  I bought sensibly.

And then I went to the post office and mailed out many seemly and unseemly things.

I'm home.  HOME!  And this is my chair.  And this is the keyboard on which I type my many missives.

Oh, Toto, we're HOME!  And there's Auntie Em and Uncle Henry.

And...oh, my!  YOu were there, too...and you....and YOU!

I will avoid Black Friday like the plague.

I enjoyed TWIN PEAKS when it ran very much; but...I HATED that they never provided me a proper ending to the show.  I felt like I had watched the longest Shaggy Dog story in history.

I'm dipping into my Noel Coward, Judi Dench, and Ibsen boxed sets this weekend.  Last night we watched a wonderful Feydeau farce starring Dench called Keep An Eye on Amelia.  Then followed it with a bleak black and white BBC production of Ibsen's BRAND from 1959, starring an excellent Patrick McGoohan.  I'm surprised he didn't become a noted figure on the British stage.  His performance in this was very electrifying and powerful.

We've also been getting a few screeners from the movie companies to watch for Awards Time...one of which is 3:10 To Yuma which I have been avoiding because I love the original so much.

DR Charles Pogue, there'as a wonderful Noel Coward version of Feydeau's Occupe-toi d'Amelie LOOK AFTER LULU, which I believe played London's West End with Vivien Leigh.  The American production with Tammy Grimes as Lulu/Amelia was a bomb.

I'll bet no one ever accused Reg Park of being a flibbertigibbet.

Perhaps, but wasn't Steve Reeves referred to as "Miss Protein" or something like that in some circles?

Do you get to play with the new PC now, or do you have to wait until after the holidays?

Well.. My parents just left CarMax, and are now heading over to the PX to check out some sales.  And then they'll come back over here to pick me for the trip down to Richmond.  So... In the meantime, I think I'm going to take a nap.  :)
