I have never seen THE SPOILERS, but I do agree with BK in that Richard Barthelmess is quite a good actor.

PLUS, that was the originally scheduled opening night for that show before the strike started.  The opening has since been postponed a few weeks.  BUT - my playbill is an opening night playbill with the (since wrong) date of November 29 printed on it. - A great item for a playbill collector such as myself!! -- making me doubly glad I went that night.

Ah-hah, page 3 so I can make like a tree and leaf ... LOTS of end-of-semester paperwork to do (minor revisions to my qualfying paper, my presentation essay, my final study packet and paper, revisions to my thesis plan, colloquium report, and my end-of-term paperwork). You get the picture on why I've been most E and T....

TOD;   Christmas cookies cut out in festive shapes.  We have always done rich butter/sugar cookies with scads of buttercream frosting.  Probably my all-time favorite food.

Even sometimes in July, I'll get out the cookie cutters and bake Christmas cookies.  It's amazing how one can eat a dozen cookies without even blinking!

DR Jose and Missy Karen:  The only consumable I had last night was a pepperoni pizaa....HONEST.  At least, that was all I'd eaten prior to my posts.

I later had that bowl of ice cream w/syrup and pecans.

Heaven.

Then, last night, I went to see the amazing and endlessly talented Liz Callaway at the lovely Metropolitan Room.   And had the extra pleasure and surprise of getting to sit by DR Jose and his new friend Michael!

As Jose reported, the evening was such a treat.  Liz certainly has one of the most beautiful voices out there today.  She gave such a touching and glorious concert.  And generous in length, too.  She sang her signature songs - Meadowlark, and The Story Goes On.  And many others. And entertained us with some stories of her travels for her current world-wide touring scheduled  (we open in Korea, we next play in Iowa), and her work on shows such as Merrilly We Roll Along.  And we all got to learn of her true, unwavering love for air travel (NOT).

I could watch this show again and again.  Alas, if history is any guide - her last extended cabaret gig in NY was in 1980, so we all may have to wait awhile.

I recorded a film last night that I did not know existed.  It's a 1935 version of "Enchanted April" starring Ann Harding.

I don't know from the original story, but this one differs from the 1992 version in that Lottie Wilkins's husband is the novelist and Rose Arbuthnot's husband is the financial advisor/investor.

I look forward to watching it when I can stay awake.

Time now to finish dressing.  Have to get out to mail something to Elmore and to get my Morning Buns, my Chocolatines and my triple-shot Peet's latte.

Ciao-ders.

Ah - I new Enchanted April was on last night but I just assumed it was the 1992 version.  I never knew there was an earlier one - wish I had recorded it.
I LOVED the 1992 version of the film.  Several years ago, they did a play version of it that ran on Broadway for a short time - it wasn't too successful.  But I managed to see it three times because I just loved it.

Let us know how you like it after you get a chance to watch.
