DR Edisaurus -

I'd give anything to be a fly on the wall for DF John's "Cat 101" tutorial!  :)

Good morning crew.

We will be off soon to pack gift bags. I'm up and my morning ablutions are done. I've had my oatmeal with raisins and an apple, a cup of black coffee and a small glass of apple cider. The bowl and implements are washed, dried and returned to the cupboard and we are ready to go.

It has turned colder here in New York. Not as cold as in the Midwest but cold, nevertheless.

Last night, we attended a 100th anniversary gala benefit for The MacDowell Colony at The Roseland Ballroom.  The MacDowell Colony is a supportive residential retreat in New Hampshire for artists from all mediums.  Famous "Fellows" have included Thornton Wilder, Leonard Bernstein, and Aaron Copland.

It was quite an evening!  I'd never been inside the ballroom, which is very interesting.  The food was lovely and the cater-waiters even lovelier.  Some of the honorary co-chairs included Jane Alexander, Kevin Kline, Barbara Cook, Blythe Danner, and Sherie Rene Scott.

The program included actress Rachel Weisz reading from The Lovely Bones, Toni Morrison introducing a segment from an opera libretto she authored, Elaine Stritch reading a monologue by Spalding Gray, etc., etc.

It was all in all quite an exciting evening, but got to bed way too late for a school night!

Tuesday morning greetings!  Working a half-day today, then taking some time off to do some holiday prep.

Looks like I missed a lot here on HHW last night, especially offering:

Vibes of peace and comfort to DR DakotaCelt.

Calming vibes to DR Jane.

Recovery vibes to DR Danise.

Congrats vibes to DR PennyO on not getting that job.

Hi Guys,

I couldn’t stay away but I won’t stay long.  I’ll lurk more then I post because I just have to point and click.  I also thought about the voice activated computer program but by the time I got it, the week would be over.

My thoughts and prayers are with Dakota Celt.  There are no words one can say at a time like this to make it any better.  Just know you are thought of and draw warmth from friends both near and far.

And I want to express my condolences to DR Jane and Bryan on Monkey.

I also wanted to give you all a link for the DVD players:

http://www.dvdcodes.net/

Ok, I’m going now but I will be watching.

Vibes to all!   :)

Good morning!

Much colder this morning and our overcast skies are back. I'm not sure if rain is in our future or not, but it's cold right now.

I got NAKED BOYS SINGING in the mail yesterday, so that's likely to be watched tonight, probably before prime time starts.

Well in fact on December 7, you may be jolted a bit when the Sun squares Uranus.  My suggestion at that time is to be open to any messages you receive and act upon them.

You mean those emails asking us to send money???

Oh dear, it's worse than I thought:

Venus is at the end of Libra and makes a frictional 135-degree link to revolutionary Uranus in Pisces (exact at 1:54AM PST tomorrow). This type of sky pattern can either give you new dynamism in a love connection or jolt you with a shocking turn of events.

Does that mean we shouldn't get out of bed that morning??

DR JRAND, I do wish you'd clarify! I'm so confused! (Be quiet, Bruce)

BAD BIRDIE:
Conrad Birdie - Eminem
Kim MacAfee - Queen Latifah
Hugo -  Tom Cruise
Albert - Russell Crowe
Rose - Gwen Stefani
Mr. MacAfee - Jerry Seinfield
Mrs. MacAfee - Beyonce
Mae - Barbra Streisand
"Put on a Happy Face" Girls - Paris Hilton & Lindsay Lohan
Mayor - Ed Begley, Jr*
Mrs. Mayor - Ileana Douglas*
Shriners: Brad Garrett, Ray Romano, Kevin James, Kelsey Grammer, Ted Danson.

* bit of a cheat, as they played the mayor and his wife in Pittsburgh's CLO production of THE MUSIC MAN; and may be seen in the film PITTSBURGH doing just that.

Some people I know would be just happy to get naked boys in the mail.   ;)

DR Edisaurus -

I'd give anything to be a fly on the wall for DF John's "Cat 101" tutorial!  :)

Unfortunately he is arriving after we are leaving. Our regular house sitter will stay the first day but she won't see John. So he will be on his own with lots of notes!

Guess I'll head down now to tidy up the bedroom (already cleaned the living room this morning), check the mail, and start thinking about what's for lunch.

Oh, I did mean to comment about the scene between Brenda and her mother on THE CLOSER last night.

Utterly devastating and SO important. It's one thing to think your daughter arrests bad guys, but the world is often so NOT black and white like that, and Willie Ray for the first time got to see the awful pressures Brenda is under and the impossible decisions that have to be made on a daily basis for her.

And that sweet decision to become foster parents had me in tears.

Well done all around. I liked very much that it wasn't a traditional CHristmas story-themed episode.

This is a greeting card I received from a friend back in the late 1970s.  To this day, it's the card I've most enjoyed:
