What is everyone's LEAST favorite Christmas song?

Well, it's only my "least" favorite since it doesn't sit well after repeated hearings:  "O, Holy Night".  -Especially if they take the repeat... :-\

Nothing says winter like coming back into the house reeking of gasoline and exhaust from the snow blower...

In other news...

I had another Groovy Time playing auditions today for the upcoming Encores! presentation of Applause.  We sang and danced Men in the morning, and Women in the afternoon.  There were some fierce(!) people who came in today too, including a former Elphaba who ended up singing all of "The Wizard and I".  -And she asked for my card after the auditions were done too!  :)

"Madame Sousatzka" - As a piano student of a somewhat eccentric - well, at least eclectic - pianist teacher in college, this movie is near and dear to me.

Here is Mr Cheyenne Jackson from reFRESH magazine.  The photographer obviously arrived early before Mr Jackson was dressed.

...And I still remember her shaking her head in disbelief and/or bewilderment when I told her that "Madame Sousatzka" reminded me of her.   -And that other students in her studio also thought the same thing.  I mean, she never bought us clothes, but she did cook for us every now and then, and she offered to let us stay at her house to housesit when she and her family went away on vacations.

Jeanne, those were photos from previous winters.  At the moment we only have rain, which is fine with me.

My favorite See’s are milk chocolate chocolate cream, scotchmellows, Victorian toffee, peanut brittle and dark chocolate covered peanuts.  I like the caramels too. Since I have had to pretty much give up milk chocolate I mostly  get the scotchmallow’s & the covered peanuts these days, along with dark chocolate balls.  I also like the mint & coffee Krispys.

And just a few studios away from us this afternoon, guess who just happened to be rehearsing for her upcoming Broadway debut in The Drowsy Chaperone?  :)

Forgive me if someone else has already posted this, but I am just starting yesterday's posts; so it might take me a while to catch up.

Please, regardless of your feelings about President Bush, or the war, please go to this site.

www.LetsSayThanks.com

If you go there, you can send a personalized card, that will be printed out by the Xerox Corporation and sent to one of our troops fighting in this war.  You can't pick your soldier, but it is a wonderful way to thank a serviceman or woman for risking their lives for each of us.  I have checked and double-checked and this is the real mccoy.

Thank you (and spread the word).

Since when do ecologically sensitive liberals use gasoline fueled snow blowers ;)

Hello everyone,

Last night I baked a new cookie recipe. I took 2 dozen into work today and everyone loved them.

Here's the recipe if you'd like to make them.

Butterscotch Sugar Drops

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2-1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
10-oz pkg Butterscotch Chips (Hersheys)
1-1/4 cup chopped dried apricots

Heat oven to 350F. Beat butter and sugar until well blended. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until well blended. Stir in chips and apricots. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.

TOD:  Shirley MacLaine can do just about anything in a movie, and it's terrific.  "What a Way to Go" was always a favorite, but it had little to do with Ms. MacLaine's acting (it was morew the glamorous campiness of it that got me).  "Turning Point" and "Steel Magnolias" are brilliant because of her.  She's an amazingly talented woman.

Off now to read a bit and then back to viewing. Yep, NAKED BOYS DANCING at last!!!

WBBL.

I just watched it and wrote my review for DVDTalk, where it will probably be live by this evening.  I must say, I was underwhelmed, to say the least.   I'm obviously not the target audience for this show, but it was so completely lackluster I couldn't believe it.

They sound wonderful.  I don't suppose you'd want to send a bunch to Phoenix; would you?

DR Miss Karen - As for as Boo-Key's non-accident... Does CA have some sort of law stating that the only way any sort of damages above a certain amount can be claimed in regards to an automobile accident is is the police were called?  I know that Virginia and the District of Columbia have something like that on their books... Which is why when I was involved in my one and only fender-bender, I made sure to wait around until the police arrived to file a report.  *Of course, the police ended up being a bit put-off for having to respond to an accident where no one was injured and there was barely any damage to the cars, but I was not going to take any chances.   Thankfully(?), I was the one who was hit, however, since it turned out that the person who hit my car did not have insurance, by filing the report with the police, it made it a whole lot easier for me to get the minor repair covered by my insurance company, as well as a check from the Maryland Uninsured Driver's Fund.

I'm not famliar with CA auto laws (I'm sure I will become familiar with them though during all this) but it's my understanding CA has a law to prevent the cops from being called to all these bogus non-accidents -- something about it has to be a really major smash up and/or there are life-threatening injuries, which of course is a victory for the scam artists, but I can see that in a big city like LA the cops would be spending all their time being called as witnesses to this stuff, but it really leaves the good guys at the mercy of the scammers...

El Cid is coming early next year from what I hear.  But we've been hearing it's coming early next year for about seven years.  This time there is a release date, though.
