And speaking of coffee table books...

DR JoseSPiano, have you seen the Disney tie-in book for Mary Poppins?  It is quite expensive [$50], but it looks nice.

Off to work.  We received a nice assortment of insects in amber resin key chains that I know will be very popular with our shoppers.

Good morning, all.

It's a beautifully COLD morning.  When I arose and looked out the window, I saw steam rising off the ponds.

DR JoseSPiano:  I did, indeed, ride out past Furman University, but I did not know to "wave" for you.  Ditto BJU...which I wouldn't wave at no matter how badly you wanted me to.

DR singdaw - Yes, I have seen the new Mary Poppins coffee table book.  I have three words for you: Border's 40%-off Coupon.  ;)  Is that really three words?  Four? Five?

Is there no end to the pathos and poor-mouthing?

"Survivor: China" fourth runner-up Denise played the poverty card to appeal to Amanda and Courtney to rid themselves of Todd in order to make the final three.  In the finale, which named Todd the winner, Denise claimed she returned home to find she would not get her job back and, instead, had to clean toilets and classrooms, instead....and in a night shift rather than the dayshift she enjoyed pre-Survivor.  Producer Mark Barnett felt so sorry for her he, personally, gave her $50,000.

Today, on the CBS Early Show, the TRUTH was revealed...Denise had voluntarily given up the lunch lady job before "Survivor" in order to become a janitor...for higher pay and better benefits.  When she returned in August, she asked NO ONE about returning to her day shift job as a lunch lady.  She made up the sob story to generate sympathy for her sad, bathetic existence, apparently.

I hope Mark Burnett can stop payment on that check.

Don't be too anxious.  As I explained the other day, my mom's computer does not have photo-editing capabilities (i.e., I cannot make them smaller and, thus, acceptable to HHW.com).

I have lots of pictures...but no way to reduce them to 200 KB, or thereabouts.

But prepare for an end-of-2007 onslaught of pix when I return to the Bay Area.
