I saw a few little bits here and there of Clash of the Choirs last night.  I'm not really familiar with American Idol, but it seems they've borrowed some things there.  And of the little I saw of the "performances," there seems to be very little emphasis on the actual choral singing - or imaginative musical arrangements.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised.  But I hope that Average Joe American doesn't get the idea that this is what choral singing is all about.

Ah.

Gotcha, DR RLP.  Photobucket helps me with that re-sizing task.  But it's nice to know that we'll have some stuff to look at before too long.

My mom has gone to aerobics.  The sun is shining.  It feels like "winter."  It's very Christmasy here in Johnston SC.

I'm having my second cup of coffee.  I had grits and bacon for breakfast.

Life is G-O-O-D, and I don't care who knows it!

Good morning, all! I looked at the alarm, saw it was 7:30 and closed my eyes for a moment, which lasted until 8:40! So, now I'm up with a few errands and a trek to ENCHANTED (it was Susan Sarandon, DR JRand57?) with Charlotte.  We want to see SWEENEY TODD on Friday, but I can't learn if it's playing at any theatre but the Ziegfeld, and I don't particularly want to schlep into midtown to buy tickets in advance to learn the Friday showings are sold out.  And you're right about the waltz, DR JRand57, and I remember thinking the same thing.

I thought "My Five Packages" was DR MBarnum's fantasy of "My Three Sons."

TOD:
  (Waltz from) SWING TIME
  GIGI
  GOLDFINGER
  HUSH, HUSH, SWEET CHARLOTTE
THOSE MAGNIFICENT MEN IN THEIR FLYING MACHINES
  ALFY
  APRIL LOVE
  FRIENDLY PERSUASION
  WHAT'S NEW PUSSY CAT?

I hope that Average Joe American doesn't get the idea that this is what choral singing is all about.

Our sentiments exactly, DR Singdaw.  I thought the best choral singing occurred in the snippets of Christmas carols that the small groups were shown singing in Rockefeller Center.  Can't remember if they were shown just before or just after commercial breaks.

Good morning!

Clear and cold here, but at least we can look forward to 51 for a high. Still, it feels like December, and that's a good thing.

Got another TV review set yesterday (for an MTV series), but am putting all of those on hold for a few days and just enjoy CHristmas favorites.

Today I'll finish WHITE CHRISTMAS, watch A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS, and then move on to A CHRISTMAS STORY

Tonight, I want to watch the Albert Finney SCROOGE before TV shows begin.

There are new episodes of CBS' Tuesday line-up (including NCIS).

There's a new episode of BOSTON LEGAL tonight, too.

And I'm going to lunch today with my oldest friend Hal. We're having a gift exchange with other friends tomorrow night, but as he and I give each other more than the others, we're going to get a couple of gifts out of the way at lunch so there will be an equal number of gifts exchanged tomorrow night.
