I cannot find anything that I feel like watching, therefore I may watch nothing.  What time is the Kennedy Center thing on in LA?

One presumes CBS 9-11PM

I finished up the rest of the bonus features on THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT Part II.

(BTW, this new Blu-ray set has nothing on it other than the high def transfers that wasn't in the sDVD box of a year or so ago. There is no new footage, no new extras. The only difference is that the extras from the bonus disc in the sDVD set have been placed on the various TE discs where appropriate.)

Listening to CDs.  I ate too much again - actually I did well until the pound of cheesy potatoes I picked up from Gelson's.  They looked lonely, so I took them home with me.

I had never watched the Mike Douglas show excerpt. (Well, I saw the original broadcast. I have never watched it on the DVDs.)

It got kind of nasty when Mike asked Janis Paige about the MGM of old and how glamorous it was, and she said she liked today (1976) and didn't live in the past which Ann Miller took tremendous offense to. (Ann had just been talking about how wonderful it had been to make movies back then.) Then, Janis looked over at Hermes Pan and said, "I've still got those bruises from that knee drop in SILK STOCKINGS.")

I actually think she was kind of irked because she had been the last of the stars there that Mike asked a question of. Fred, Jane Powell, Debbie Reynolds, Nanette Fabray, Ann, Hermes had all talked a long time before he got to her standing there with the rest of them.

I'd definitely watch more Mod Squad episodes, but the way Paramount does these things, a season is split into two releases, so I've only got the first half of season one and heaven knows when they'll get around to the second half.  It's quite maddening - they should do a full season in one set.

Then, I watched THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT III.

Of the three movies, TE III BY FAR looked the best on Blu-ray. Almost all of the black and white film excerpts looked silky and gorgeous rather than grainy and in bad shape compared to those in the previous two TEs. And they did far less of the zooming and changing of aspect ratios. Yes, the Esther Williams movies still got zoomed, and the "You Stepped Out of a Dream" number was zoomed, too, along with "March of the Doagies" from THE HARVEY GIRLS and the opening pink number from ZIEGFELD FOLLIES. But not much else.

Then I watched all of the TE III special features. That hour long documentary on the making of the film with the premiere footage along with the Osborne intro, the trailer, and the Outtake Video Jukebox with 17 musical numbers lifted from MGM musicals.

And The Song Of The Day Is :  HERNANDO'S HIDEAWAY

I like that song...

DOOL used it many years ago as a song that a couple danced to... I provided a picture of that dance...

I myself was trying to watch an episode of the 1956 series BRAVE EAGLE which had Race Gentry as a guest star...just as Race and Keith Larson (as Brave Eagle) are fighting the picture got all squiggly and froze.

Dang! Defective disc.

It's been very busy, I'm home now, but very tired and have a lot to do at work before the week is over. So I shall remain E and T for a couple more days.
