As for the Topic of the Day...

Hmmm...

Sadly(?), the only thing that comes to mind right now is the opening for "The Guiding Light" when it was just a shot of sunlight coming through the trees.

From Singingnypgh:
Quote
Does anyone else ever get a craving for challah?
...I miss Friday nights at the Hillel.

All the time.  Bryan even sent me a loaf for Chanukah.

The Friday we arrived in L.A. we were to stop at friends for Sabbath dinner (we always have an open invitation), a tradition that began for me in 10th grade.  After two days of driving in sleeting rain and high winds we simply went to the hotel room.  After checking in we took Sherlock for a walk, stopping at a Thai restaurant & Ralphs (turkey for his pills and a new umbrella for me)

WELCOME TO THE CLOUDS!!!

That was my interpretation when I first read the headline, and I was very shocked. ;D

TOD: I am including up to my early 20s

(Many of the shows in the late 70s and 1980s tended to get the Cheese factor and some were so bad they made you groan when you watch clips of them now)

Designing Women
Evening Shade
Little house on the prairie (Give me a break I was only 8 years old and my aunt had read the book to me.)
Big Blue Marble
Learning French on Sesame Street
Cosby Show
Dallas -- "Who Shot JR?"

::: hangs head in shame--- maybe::::
Days of our Lives (The classic era of the 1980s to 1991)
General Hospital (like some teen girls at the time we had a crush on Blackie Parrish and Dr. DRake)
Search for Tomorrow (Those damn McCleary boys!)
Santa Barbara (Lane Davies)

These are the ones I can think of at that moment that were also worth a raised eyebrow and excitement. There were a number of shows from the 1970s into the 1980s that I enjoyed.

Good day Dakota.  Has your DBF settled into his new location?

Pretty much...

He has been teaching this past week and that is going well...

HE was commenting that it was around 60 this past wee. He was bragging... We are preparing for possibly 10 days of subzero temps in these parts and of course we will share!

One of my student workers, Jaleesa,  came up with a great quote this past week:

"I am a cheerio in the cereal bowl of life" .

The first year of Santa Barbara I found myself resting a badly sprained ankle and watching the show/Lane Davies. ;)

What's DR Jose's mantra?

"Pack 'n' post, post 'n' pack..."

One of the things I'm looking forward to about our trip north is being able to wear my turtlenecks and sweaters.

Td-Thank you for the CHESS link, such a beautiful voice.

My six degrees of Josh Groban:
Josh was beginning to study at Carnegie Mellon under voice teacher Gary Kline, who was my brother Archibald in the production of THE SECRET GARDEN which I did as Neville.
Josh never finished his studies at CMU, instead he went with the recording contract offered to him by David Foster.
The rest, as they say, is history.

I plan on getting several Bollywoods watched this weekened...and my first one today is DHAN DHANA DHAN GOAL starring John Abraham, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani, and Bipasha Basu...it is about a ragtag group of footballers in Great Britain. It did not get very good reviews, but I must say that I am enjoying it.

DR MBarnum, last night I watched a movie which didn't seem to meet with good reviews as well, though I found most of it charming:
YAAH! LIVE HO TOH AISI!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0475645/
Boyish Shahid Kapoor is the star, but, it is Sanjay Dutt who steals the show.
You might want to give it a try. . . ;)

Craig got his Bachelor degree in communications.  His original intention was to be a D.J.  I always enjoyed listening to him on the radio.

I sent Craig the clip on JB & the Mellon Arena.

Craig just missed his connection last night & had to take the later flight, a shame since he is sick.  He spent too much time walking around San Francisco in the rain, with wet shoes, & became ill the night of the job fair.

Still, the fair went well & he has a few interesting leads for San Francisco & surrounding areas.  He will also look at available jobs in Pittsburgh & continue searching for ones with the federal government.

Good Afternoon!

Back from the gym.  Two miles on the treadmill.  Whew! :)

*I almost logged a few more minutes/miles due to the "inspiration" on the treadmill across from me, but, thankfully(?), common sense kicked in.  Maybe next time.  ;)
