BROTHERS & SISTERS had a squabbling episode that didn't push the plots very far forward, almost like marking time though Tommy and Julia made an important decision, and it looks like Nora, Justin, and Sarah are moving ahead with their on-going relationships.

Uncle Saul wasn't even on tonight!

Cillaliz, I thought of you at one of the get-togethers today because it turns out my brother-in-law edited various Edwards spots that ran only in Iowa.  If you saw any spots of him speaking informally to groups in a home environment, my bro-in-law did those.

JMK, I never knew your b-i-l was an editor. How did I miss that?

I figured out the song, but I have yet to really sit and figure out all the distractions and symbolism.

I think a lot of it was to prove that it was actually being performed backwards as well as to throw you off from guessing the song.

You mean teched? As in teched in th' haid?

Kerry, I don't think there was symbolism. I think he was just doing things to show them being undone backwards.

That's what I get for skipping ahead and not reading all the notes! LOL!

And this may be exactly what we get for The Oscars, as well.

That won't make for a very fun Oscar party!

A girl he was working with cut him down about his punning. She said his humor reminded him of her grandpa. I think he took a bit of offense to that, but his sense of humor is one of my favorite attributes. These kids today...

I meant to mention that Kyra Sedgwick played the sports agent in THE GAME PLAN, without her Brenda Leigh Johnson-accent, of course!

It wouldn't surprise me if they delayed the Oscars so they could have their big night and the big ratings that go with it if the strike is still going on at the end of February.

I thought about watching GAME PLAN to see Kyra, but The Rock kind of creeps me out.

I was just glad Holly Hunter didn't win. But it was a very tough category this year, and the Globes are notorious for rewarding first year shows and their stars.

He's so much better than the movie deserved. It's a very contrived, formulaic movie without an ounce of originality. That said, Johnson and Sedgwick are the best things in it.

DR George, we have the Met screenings in Atlanta, too. I have thought about going but the ticket price was a deciding factor. Of course, now that I can afford it I don't have the time to go.

One day both of these things will align (when Uranus is trined?) and I'll get to go!

Speaking of awards, we were presented with our John E. O'Connor award last weekend in Washington D.C. . I didn't get to go (I hadn't planned to when I was out of work, and then when I got the TLC work I had to work all weekend anyway, so...) but my partner in film, Peter, went and said it was great. It was the 122nd annual meeting of the American History Association. I hope of the more than 5,000 attendees, a few will buy DVD's!

One of the upcoming operas is "Tristan und Isolde" and it's 5 hours and 35 minutes!  That's a long opera!

Another new show for TLC: Paul McKenna's I CAN MAKE YOU THIN. I had asked to work on that one, hoping it would somehow rub off and I would lose weight by osmosis, but they have passed it along to a graphics house. And I had already written my promo line: "Do you have the guts---to lose?"

The show is 4 episodes long and Paul guarantees that people will lose weight without dieting, if they follow his 4 simple rules. The show got very high ratings in Britain so they hope to duplicate its success here.
