Thanks for the info DR RLP.

I"m not sure which ned i will prefer. Although i definitely liked the old one a lot.

I just found it very odd that they would change direction mid-season without even a mention (although they did take a few digs at it by referring to him being older).

I think this ned will have more to do. I don't really like that they so drasticly changed things. They could have just found another kid and not made him ned.

Okay i just looked on the imdb for the name you gave (tyler patrick jones) and it says the kid is 13 (march 12, 1994).  I wonder what age he was supposed to be. I always thought he was like 11ish.

IIRC, they haven't replaced him mid-season.  This entire season, Ned has been "missing", so to speak.  Often referred to but never shown.

I'm thinking that he was out as of the end of last season.  For what reason I don't know.  It may be that his folks wanted him in school rather than working.  It may be that the producers wanted a more mature Ned for future episode writing.

I doubt we'll ever "know" for sure.

Slightly oftod; the movie OLIVER! vastly improved on the stage show. To do Chorus Line, you'd need to watch how Bennet filmed the opening for the Tonys and take your cue from there(and NO shots of Zach sitting in the theater)The prob with ACL and Dolly is that Dolly has that runway-how do you equalize that for film? 3-D ? and Chorus Line, you've got the whole line in front of you for almost half the show.I haven't a clue as to how you'd duplicate that.; I'd like to see a film of FORUM with Norbert Leo Butz-I bet he'd be a stitch.

DR elmore - YIKES!  There were a couple of articles about bedbugs and other critters in the year end issues of both Time Out New York and New York Magazine.  -And just yesterday, I received an "invitation" from the City Of New York to attend a seminar of the current bedbug infestation and how to get rid of them.

In the meantime, here's the article from New York Magazine:

Ron, my immediate thought was that "CharlieIves" is either Avi Hearn (The Mark Of Score-o or any number of other usernames) or Robert John Guttke, who returns from time to time using other names).   My guess is that it's the former, but I suppose it could be the latter.

Guttke's verbiage is, more often than not, a tad "twee"...and I don't see any of that in that post.  I'm thinking it's Hearn, as well.

I just heard from the agent for my building and professional exterminators wil be calling on me.  It turns out the B line of apartments is infested so the bugs are most likely looking for new hangouts.  I'm in the C line.

I would guess they're migrating from the baseboards behind the bookcases with CD player and amplifier.  Yikes!  That's a lot of books to move.

I began my afternoon by watching last night's CSI: MIAMI.

Not a great episode, and I'm really bored with all the to-do with Horatio's kid though it did have a place in the episode since the mother (played by Elizabeth Berkley) was indirectly involved in the murder (though no proof allowed her to go free).

CSI: MIAMI is one of the sharpest and most vivid HD shows on any network, but last night, the soft focus filters were out in force with both Berkley and Caruso using them.

Well, I disagree with DR S. Woody about the 1962 GYPSY which I consider a classic, but I've defended it enough times here and won't go through it all again.

I also think the Disney/Rob Marshall ANNIE was a million times more effective than the Huston ANNIE and truer to the show. Both versions left out chunks of the stage original that I missed, but if I'm in the mood for ANNIE, I'll pull out the Disney version every time.

The Criterion discs I was expecting did not show up today, so I was forced into proceeding with HAWAII FIVE-O, Season 3. If the discs show up tomorrow, I'll put HAWAII FIVE-O aside and do the Criterion films, and then go back to HAWAII FIVE-O much later in the week.

I got three episodes watched of HAWAII FIVE-O. The crime dramas of the old days moved much more slowly than the ones of today do. That said, I still enjoyed seeing the guest stars and the clothes, and all the "groovy" dialog that got worked into the scripts.

Among the guest stars so far have been Gerald O'Laughlin and Donald Moffat in the first episode, Nancy Wilson (as a heroin addict!) and Harry Guardino in the second, and John Marley and Eric Braeden in the third.

The transfers are up and down in quality. Scenes shot on soundstages look the best. Location work is hit or miss in terms of sharpness and grain. Of course, sound has to be rerecorded on those location shoots at the beach, and it's SO obvious. There have even been some black scratches on the masters used for the transfers.

DR elmore - If you haven't done so already, CHECK YOUR BOOKS!  And your boxes of books.  Just grab a few off each shelf and check their bindings for "nymphs".  If you see any trace of them, well... start microwaving!  :-\

TOD: I have no clue, except that I often don't care for the movie versions.

I loved Carol Burnett as Miss Hannigan, though.

And now a little break...

It has been another great afternoon of dancing.  We even had some pointe work today - which I haven't seen in an audition in years!  Best of all, there's some real "depth" to the field of candidates.  That's always a good "problem" to have when a show is about to be cast.  :)

DR Ron Pulliam, perhaps if you drool uncontrollably you can keep your co-worker away.

Can you kill the eggs/baby critters by putting the books in the freezer? It works with flour and birdseed.

I guess I'll head back down and continue with the adventures of Steve McGarrett.

Since I'm not watching the 2-hour IDOL auditions tonight, I should be able to finsh disc 1 and possibly get all the way throgh disc 2 tonight as well. If I get burned out on these, I'll switch over to the Val lewton documentary from TCM that's on the DVR.

Manmade?  They look like something a bird would fashion.
