Boy, you've got THAT right, DR Vixmom -  I see people driving ALL THE TIME in New York, yapping on their hand-held cell phones!!

Of course, New York also boasts the worst drivers in the nation, according to a recent report by one of the national insurance companies.

and they all live in my town

Good morning, all.  I slept on the MBarnum Memorial Air Mattress last night. It wasn't awful, but I want my bed back!

Today, I have more laundry and a lot of vacuuming to see what of the bugs and other detritus I can rid the apartment.  I thought I'd continue this process for several days before making up the bed and seeing what happens when I sleep in it.  In the meantime, I should be hearing from the exterminators, although the 4th floor gossip on the B line is that the exterminators don't do a damned thing.

I've postponed today's meeting to sign the new will for a week, and I have lots of messy work here today, so I'll sign in later.

When I was in high school we went to see Grease on Broadway as a field trip.

They're doing the same thing today with the revival - in conjunction with their studies on "Ancient Civilizations"!   ;)

Argh, Rally, I feel your pain!

I used to live in some apartments built in the '40's. They had terrible roach problems because they didn't take care of the whole building. (They were little one story apartments, about 4 in a row, lots of them.) All it would take was one neighbor to bomb for roaches and then they would all escape to my apartment, then I would bomb and send them back. We should have all done it at the same time!

I have lived in houses ever since. At least if I have roaches or ants, they are MY roaches and ants!

We also have palmetto bugs, which are larger than roaches, and they can fly!

Ben,
I ordered those tablet internet whoosits from Dell for DD and DS for Christmas. Sandra's works fine; DS's shuts itself off. He called on Dec 29 and they said a new one would be here in five to seven days. Yesterday I called again, only to be told that the shipping date is February 11.

Today's news item on television:
There is a new book about Tom Cruise.

Now I remember why I rarely turn on the television.

Today is Mr. Goldstein's birthday. Mae-Ling will be here shortly. We shall put some Banquet chicken and dumplings into the crock pot, and she can serve her daddy dinner for his birthday. She is so excited.

What's the difference between talking on a hands free cell and talking to a passenger in the car on a distraction level?

Cell phones should be banned in a lot more places than cars. I am tired of sitting in restaurants listening to other people's conversations or standing in checkout lines between two people on their phones.  No matter how many announcements are made, I am sick of being at a play, concert or movie and hearing phones ring --- no not ring, make some weird nnoise or play some strange tune.  The whole world has turned into one big phonebooth and it's time to draw the line.  I do not have a cellphone.  I have a phone at home with an answering machine and a phone at work with voice mail.  I don't need to talk to people when I am someplace else.  Just because the technology exists, it doesn't mean it is needed.

I never make calls when I'm on the highway, and try not to when i'm driving, unless I'm running late and need to let my client know.

Shouldn't a good citizen pull off the road to make such a call?

singdaw - Are you indeed calling the revue BIPOLAROIDS (in the tradition of SNAPSHOTS)

You must use this song called "But Alive" - the ultimate bipolar song that doesn't need a medley to be bipolar. You might be able to twist a few people's arms to get a few parody verses.

Hmmm, coinkeedink??? I think not. It now seems clear to me (from a conspiracy point of view), that February 11 has become the day the world will end  ;)

Ben, I agree with you - Norbert is wonderful in the show.  And the show itself is O.K.   It's Norbert that makes the show so fun and worth seeing.

When the historic Butts bridge in Augusta was threatened with demolition, a group banded together to save it.

The motto on their shirts: "Save Our Butts"!

I’m Late, I’m Late
for a very important date,
No time to say hello, goodbye,
I’m late, I’m late, I’m late
and when I wave,
I lose the time I save.
My fuzzy ears and whiskers
took me too much time to shave.
I run and then I hop, hop, hop,
I wish that I could fly.
There’s danger if I dare to stop
and here’s the reason why,
(you see) I’m overdue.
I’m in a rabbit stew,
Can’t even say goodbye, hello,
I’m late, I’m late, I’m late.
Good morning Mister Chatterbox
I’d love to stoop and chatter,
but in six and seven eighth minutes
I must meet with the mad hatter
the mad, mad, mad, mad Hatter.
We must chat about a very important matter.
I’m off to see the queen of hearts
who lives up in the palace,
and the very moment I’m through with her
I’ve got a date with Alice.
I can’t be late for Alice
or the queen of hearts who lives up in the palace.
I’m late.
