DR Edisaurus - would that make DR Ron Pulliam's progeny the CHILDREN OF THE CORN?

Just think what good-looking corn they'd be!   ;)

Will all the apartments in the building be exterminating for bugs soon?

No.  For several reasons:
  1.  I have no idea how many apartments are infested
  2.  The landlord's not busting his ass over fixing this; they haven't even notified the tenants there's a problem in the building
  3.  The treatments don't seem to be working so it may become a constant tenant-bug battle

I can't imagine you nuking every book in your place.  While difficult, it seems it would be easier to just get large garbage bags & bag the books for a month.

I wanted to see what would happen and if it were possible without damaging a book.

Back from lunch with the seminarians and a trip to the campus bookstore with Richard.  We bought each other's anniversary presents:  I gave him a Nashotah House signet ring and he gave me a NH hooded sweatshirt and Jan Karon's Mitford Cookbook and Kitchen Reader.  One of his classmates sang us an anniversary song.

Thanks for the wishes from DRs FJL, td, BK, Jennifer, MissKaren, Jeanne, DakotaCelt, and Ben.

Do you New Yorkers remember that 2 years ago this week we were there to celebrate this occassion?

DR Elmore, I don't think we saw a show together on that trip.  Richard and I saw Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Barbara Cook at the Met, and Rent.  We did have our last Barrymore's meal on that trip  :'( and a delightful dinner at Artie's with DR FJL before the Barbara Cook event.

Oh, my, the Gateway saga just gets sillier and sillier.

End of story (for now - an Avenue Q reference).

You have good reason to rant.  I hope this will be the end of your problems with them.

DR Ben - sorry for the difficulties you're having with Gateway.  DR Jose would be happy to show you the way to the Apple Store, I'm sure  ;) !

Your landlord isn't very nice.  Do you plan to let the rest of the tenants know about the problem, or has someone else begun the task?

I hope you are wrong and this problem can be solved, for good.

It all comes back. I am a bit preoccupied.  Happy Anniversary.  Tell Richard howdy.

Dakota, is that -50 degrees with or without the wind chill?  The coldest I've been in is -40, with the wind chill.  I spent two hours hiking in it & there wasn't one spec of my skin visible after layering clothes for half an hour.   I really feel for you.

Everyone on my floor is alert and irate.  It's been a problem on the 4th and 5th floors.

Thanks, DR Elmore!  Richard's a bit preoccupied this week, too, but Miss Weinberger would be very proud to hear him chanting.

Elmore, how long ago was the landlord alerted to this problem?  I can imagine how angry folks are for not having been warned & possibly preventing the spread of these horrible pests.  At the least it wouldn't have been so bad.

I assume the Rite of Sacrificing a Virgin has been dropped from contemporary liturgies.

As I predicted, the snow is almost all gone. But it is BITTER cold outside, so I'm glad I'm INSIDE and likely to remain so (except when taking out the garbage tonight.)

I watched more HAWAII FIVE-O episodes (though not as many as I would have liked). Among the guest stars were Tim O'Connor, Michael Anderson, Jr. and, in the last one I watched, Paul Burke.

The one with Tim O'Connor was my favorite one of the season thus far. It was done as a caper film with a group of bandits planning a jewel heist and all of their elaborate preparations ahead of time. Really unusual stuff for an hour TV drama of 1971. I was impressed with how much they were able to squeeze into the 49 minutes of air time.

I ended the afternoon watching last night's RENO 911! Some funny stuff

especially the vignettes with Trudy trying to sell her baby to a series of different couples.

Didn't get to PROJECT RUNWAY yet or today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Maybe later if I can cut my on-line time down this afternoon. We'll see.

Jeanne - I had thought I'd written here about the Seattle thing after the conference call in December when they were thinking about February as a possibility, but I obviously didn't!

I remember typing it.  So where did I type that info???  And to whom did I send it???  Or maybe I typed it and decide not to post it?  I am getting old.
